Ricecracker Posted March 7, 2009 Posted March 7, 2009 (edited) Hi, I'd like to present to you my sausage factory in it's WIP stage, to get some feedback to hopefully make it better. Here it is: It is in the same scale/manner that Hinckley's Auto Mechanic and Hinckley's Brewery are in. Any and all feedback and constructive criticism will be greatly appreciated, and probably used to further this along. I am currently waiting for a few more Bricklink orders before I can finish this. And here is the Interior as requested: Workers working: The loading dock and forklift: Secretary: Vehicles for this: Forklift: With the van: Just the van: Edited March 11, 2009 by Ricecracker Quote
Aliencat Posted March 7, 2009 Posted March 7, 2009 This is coming along great, and with a detailed interior too. Just like Spyder above me, I can't wait to see the finished product of this :) Quote
Freddie Posted March 7, 2009 Posted March 7, 2009 Initially, I thought this was one of Hinckley's creations. Hmm, must be the overall design, with the colors, the raised sidewalk and all that. It certainly has potential, and then some! Will be looking forward to seeing it completed. Quote
Ricecracker Posted March 7, 2009 Author Posted March 7, 2009 Great work! I can't wait to see it finished! Thanks, I'll be sure to post it when it's done. This is coming along great, and with a detailed interior too.Just like Spyder above me, I can't wait to see the finished product of this :) Thanks, that means a lot coming from you, one of my favourite builders. Initially, I thought this was one of Hinckley's creations. Hmm, must be the overall design, with the colors, the raised sidewalk and all that. That's probably because I took a lot of inspiration from him. We might also have a small collaborative display of these at Brickworld. It certainly has potential, and then some! Will be looking forward to seeing it completed. Thanks, and again, I'll make sure I post it. Quote
Admiral Blockbeard Posted March 8, 2009 Posted March 8, 2009 If you don't get some warped title for making a sausage making factory. There is something wrong with this site! looking good so far by the way. Regards, Cpt. PB Quote

BlueBard Posted March 8, 2009 Posted March 8, 2009 Very interesting beginning, love the color scheme! I don't have any criticisms to make about the exterior look, excepting the sidewalk looks a bit too high for me. It would be great if you could show us some photos of the WIP interior, I really wonder how it could be... Quote
CommanderCody77 Posted March 8, 2009 Posted March 8, 2009 Very nice work But you said its a Sausage Factory but I don't see any sausages! Quote

It would be great if you could show us some photos of the WIP interior, I really wonder how it could be... I made it to scale with Hinckley's creations, and they happen to have raised sidewalks. Very nice work But you said its a Sausage Factory but I don't see any sausages! Thanks, actually there are sausages inside, I just didn't get a good shot of the interior. Quote
Ricecracker Posted March 8, 2009 Author Posted March 8, 2009 I added some shots of the interior as requested. Quote
Scouty Posted March 9, 2009 Posted March 9, 2009 Looks really similar to Hinckley's brewery. It's very nice, and looking good so far! Quote
Ricecracker Posted March 9, 2009 Author Posted March 9, 2009 Looks really similar to Hinckley's brewery. Hmmm, it seems people think it looks too much like Hinck's , I might have to do something about that. It's very nice, and looking good so far! Thanks, I was hoping it does. Quote

Hmm, must be the overall design, with the colors, the raised sidewalk and all that.It certainly has potential, and then some! Will be looking forward to seeing it completed. Me too! It looks quite similar to his brewery. Although it could use I guess more Sausages & a bigger production line + more people. But I like it so far. Cant wait to see more. Quote
Ricecracker Posted March 9, 2009 Author Posted March 9, 2009 It's quite hard to add more production when you need a loading area as well . The white container actually contains a "Fake your own death kit" with sausages and 2 different colours of cherries. Quote
BlueBard Posted March 9, 2009 Posted March 9, 2009 Great interior, and wonderful forklift! Your factory looks a bit "empty" for me, I thought there would be more "moving", but I suppose it's just because it's still a WIP Anyway I would suggest to you to build some walls in the interior, maybe an office in the first floor (but looking at the photos I suppose those are exactly your plans), and change the secretary desk color (too similar to the walls I think). For the rest is a very promising building and I'm pretty sure it will be a real success. Quote
Ricecracker Posted March 9, 2009 Author Posted March 9, 2009 Great interior, and wonderful forklift! I actually built the forklift about two months ago, as a tablescrap sort of thing, and wasn't sure what to use it for . Your factory looks a bit "empty" for me, I thought there would be more "moving", but I suppose it's just because it's still a WIP I suppose you're right, although the first room has the secretary, the one beside it is a storageroom (I'll see about getting pics), then out of there is the factory. I know it seems kind of small, but that's because I needed room for the forklift to pick up the pallets of sausage. Anyway I would suggest to you to build some walls in the interior, maybe an office in the first floor (but looking at the photos I suppose those are exactly your plans), and change the secretary desk color (too similar to the walls I think). Actually, the platform/mezzanine type thing on top is the "office". It has the manager, and will have a desk with a laptop, a lamp and a picture of his daughter (this piece). I agree that the desk is too brown, so I was thinking of changing it to dark bley. I also having a large van (like this one) that will go in the driveway. For the rest is a very promising building and I'm pretty sure it will be a real success. Thanks Quote
