BlueBard Posted March 15, 2009 Posted March 15, 2009 (edited) Hello everyone! Here it is the second building of the City display I'm preparing (yes I know I've been preparing it for months but what do you want, it's a slow work having the necessary bricks... ): the Red and White Cafe&Appartment. Some of you will remember it from another MOC I posted last summer, so I'm glad to present you this V.2, more accurated and with new details. Enjoy! First floor: Cafe Mr. Klaus Dieter and Mr Dennimator enjoying a little coffee Newspaper's decals by Decal-Master Luxor V. Stairs: Second floor: Appartment The rest of the pics can be seen here (when moderated) Comments are welcome. Edited March 28, 2009 by Hinckley Quote
prateek Posted March 15, 2009 Posted March 15, 2009 (edited) thats cool I love the CAFE sign and the graffiti. The sig figs are a nice touch. And the lady coming into the apartment would come in and say "GET OFF THE COUCH YOU LAZY @$^%$^!!!" Edited March 15, 2009 by prateek Quote
Darth_Dracus Posted March 15, 2009 Posted March 15, 2009 The dude in the black robe, cape, and hood dosn't look suspicious at all. Quote
Darth Legolas Posted March 15, 2009 Posted March 15, 2009 (edited) Amazing! Not only is it hilarious ( I love the newspaper design,) but it's genius too! The menu was a great idea, I love the TV and cabinet, and if this were a set, and I had cash , I'd totally get this! Great job! P.S. Is that a Sith lord at he front counter? I totally knew that was Dennimator. I also forgot to comment on the toilet. A great job on that too! Edited March 15, 2009 by Darth Legolas Quote
Natman8000 Posted March 15, 2009 Posted March 15, 2009 The dude in the black robe, cape, and hood dosn't look suspicious at all. Yes, that is dennimator. Very good job on the build, chock full of fun and nice details. Quote
Darth_Dracus Posted March 15, 2009 Posted March 15, 2009 Ummmmmmm, I knew that! Who doesn't know dennimator? And I totally forgot to say how great the moc was! It puts everyting I have ever made to shame. Quote
Teddy Posted March 15, 2009 Posted March 15, 2009 (edited) Great stuff BlueBard, I've checked the older photos of the facade of V.1. As far as I can see you've: -lowered the base -added tiling at the door -added new doors -added transparant light blue glass in the small windows on the side -added white window stills below the small windows on the side -added umbrella roofs at the front. -updated the lantern -added a garbage can. So quite some changes. I love what you did with the interior. Keep it up. Kind regards, Teddy Edited March 15, 2009 by Teddy Quote
I Scream Clone Posted March 15, 2009 Posted March 15, 2009 Blue Bard, its great to see some of your creations again (though I may have just missed them ) This is fantastic, so many great details inside and out. I love the decals from LuxorV too. I spotted a hair in the last pic, which always happens to me when I build on the floor , other than that it is a superb use of the colour red, Bravo! Quote
Brickthing Posted March 16, 2009 Posted March 16, 2009 Great work on the Cafe Blue Bard, it's nice to see an improved real version after seeing the LDD version. I love the sig-fig cameos and little touches like Hinkley's blender. However, in the 7th picture, it looks a bit peculiar to have a dashboard title on top of the wall. Is it meant to be there, or was it a substitute for a plain white tile? Quote
legofan Posted March 16, 2009 Posted March 16, 2009 WOW! Perfect! Very beautiful MOC! I'm loving the yellow trash can! Very nice! Like the way u built the toilet too! So lovely! Bet it'll be so nice to release in such a nice toilet with two coconut tree tiles~~ The cafe sign is also very nicely done! The coffee machine inside the cafe really looks realistic! In the apartment, very wonderfully built bedside lamp, bed, classic disc player, posters, almost everything is nice! I'll rate this beautiful MOC 11stars over 10 stars!! Very nice! Thanks again for sharing! Quote
BlueBard Posted March 16, 2009 Author Posted March 16, 2009 (edited) Thank you very much everybody for such nice comments! After seeing some great City MOCs at this forum I realized there was a lot of things to improve, specially on the facade. The yellow house that was side by side with the cafe was also improved, hope you'll like it too and thanks for your comments! Blue Bard, its great to see some of your creations again (though I may have just missed them ) This is fantastic, so many great details inside and out. I love the decals from LuxorV too. I spotted a hair in the last pic, which always happens to me when I build on the floor , other than that it is a superb use of the colour red, Bravo! Thanks! I agree with you, Luxor V is a real decal master, he could do almost everything you request to him and even improves the existing torsos and stickers! About the hair I use to "clean" the MOC before taking photos but that's what happens when you're too hairy! Great work on the Cafe Blue Bard, it's nice to see an improved real version after seeing the LDD version. I love the sig-fig cameos and little touches like Hinkley's blender. However, in the 7th picture, it looks a bit peculiar to have a dashboard title on top of the wall. Is it meant to be there, or was it a substitute for a plain white tile? Thanks! About the dashboard tile I must admit I was out of grey tiles and I actually used these ones to complete the "gaps" WOW! Perfect! Very beautiful MOC! I'm loving the yellow trash can! Very nice! Eilif Posted March 16, 2009 Posted March 16, 2009 Great job! I wasn't totally sold on the black statue when I saw it last time, but it looks great here. I really like your espresso machine and Record player as well. Lots of "everyday" action here that really makes this MOC great! Quote
Skinny Boy Posted March 16, 2009 Posted March 16, 2009 Just lovely Bluebard! I especially like the upstairs interior! Keep the great creations coming! Quote

BlueBard Posted March 17, 2009 Author Posted March 17, 2009 Great job! I wasn't totally sold on the black statue when I saw it last time, but it looks great here. I really like your espresso machine and Record player as well. Lots of "everyday" action here that really makes this MOC great! Thanks! About the statue, the first time I built this building I must admit it was a last minute detail (at fisrt I was thinking on putting a third balcony) but I really like it, it's simple and not very showy but works very well. I'm happy you like it, just like the espresso machine and the Record Player Just lovely Bluebard! I especially like the upstairs interior! Keep the great creations coming! Thanks! A very fine work! The facade looks beautiful and well detailed, the color scheme works great andthe interior´s lovely and neatly detailed too, I love that little lamp design! And the graffiti signing´s simply hilarious! Thanks! About the color scheme I used this one specially because I really like how it works (Strawberries and Cream! Sorry I'm taking dessert while writing ) and it's not very common on Modular building. I'm very pleased at seeing everybody likes the interior, I admit I'm not a MOC interior decoration expert but I'm happy with the result here For the graffiti I was looking for a cool design and then I thought :"What about my own signature?"
