Guss Posted March 29, 2009 Posted March 29, 2009 (edited) Nice entry ! I like the "wine scellar" and on the wall.. is it a world map ? that's nice! you did a great job^^ Edited March 29, 2009 by Guss Quote
Erdbeereis Posted March 29, 2009 Posted March 29, 2009 Now that's a well-furnished entry! The furniture and accessories that you've built are simply superb, and all of the detailing on the windows and walls are great as well. Your wine shelf is mind-blowing, and can't fathom how you got the pieces in that order. All of the little details like the wig on the stand, the lamps and the chair and chest look stunning, and very realistic. Improvement suggestions: 1) Somehow the colors on the walls don't fit too well in my opinion, especially the sand green. I think sticking to the grey and some sort of brown or tan would be the best. 2) The fish on the wall would be better suited to the table I think. Perhaps some crossed swords there would be nice? ================================== Even with those minor points, your entry is excellent. Great design really makes it stand out. Good work, and best of luck in the contest! Quote
gettobread Posted March 29, 2009 Posted March 29, 2009 This one of my favorite entries. The detail and design of every thing is very creative. I would only suggest to make more room for all the furniture. The room seems so cluttered. Quote
Fluyt Posted March 29, 2009 Posted March 29, 2009 That is one damn fine moc you built there Possible improvement points: 1. Just some tiny things like the fish on the wall and the table legs don't look a 100% right, but the greatness of the moc overshadows that. Good points: 1. Where to start , excelent detailing and furnishing. 2. The technique for the candelebras looks great. 3. It is very complete, it has got everything a captain needs, from fine wine, food, to his trusty parrot compagnion. Quote
puriri Posted March 30, 2009 Posted March 30, 2009 Wow my favorite entry so far! Likes: Most: Especially The map and windows Slanted wall The direction rose on the map Candles on the table Dislikes: Fish (seems out of place, could use a stand to be mounted on.) Green wall (should match wall around windows.) That you can build MOCs so much better than mine Puriri Quote
I Scream Clone Posted March 30, 2009 Posted March 30, 2009 He delivers! A very nice creation, love the wine cellar, bureau, and lantern. The yellow arches are a bit in your face though, otherwise I like it! Good luck. Quote
74louloute Posted March 30, 2009 Posted March 30, 2009 Just in time! But it's worthwhile ! I like every furniture you put in this MOC...the candelabre, the lamp, the chair, the wig-stand, the wine shelf... in others words everything ! Very well done Quote
Dr. Steve Posted March 30, 2009 Posted March 30, 2009 Wow! great detail, the wine rack and all the above mention stuff. I also really like the gold jumper tile used as a drawer...very good! Quote
Ratshot Posted March 30, 2009 Posted March 30, 2009 What an IMPRESSIVE entry. First I would like to say that you have made an extremely creative entry. WHAT I LIKE 1.The wine rack...........MAN that is nice, it looks very real 2.The table and it's decorations/goodies. It is very detailed looking. 3.The Chair and the desk/drawers looks good. 4.Your Candle stand looks good also. 5.I like the windows a whole lot. POSSIBLE IMPROVEMENTS There isn't a whole lot that can be improved. 1.The fish on the wall really looks out of place.....big time. 2.The color of the wall doesn't match the room very well. 3.The barrel is a little random for a Generals room. Good Job and Good Luck Quote
Eurobricks Emperor Bonaparte Posted April 3, 2009 Eurobricks Emperor Posted April 3, 2009 Those candles are brilliant. I don't think I've ever seen those before. Your invention oo7? Quote
oo7 Posted April 14, 2009 Author Posted April 14, 2009 Thanks very much, everyone. I regret that I've been away recently and have had little time to attend my thread here, but I thank all of you for your replies. Those candles are brilliant. I don't think I've ever seen those before. Your invention oo7? Half pins have definitely been used for candles by others in the past (can't seem to find any BS links though...), but I believe I may be the first to use the newer telescope piece as a candlestick (as well as a screwdriver for the wick). Thanks! Quote
Rook Posted April 22, 2009 Posted April 22, 2009 Congrats on 3rd place the detail in this MOC was just insane. Quote
