Part II

The large red roof section also lifts open to allow easy access:

A fire place on the left side also pops out to hide more gold:

Turning the card table to the right opens a trap door that will land the cardplayer in jail:

And turning the table to the left opens another trap door that will land figs outside the fort for a quick "get-away" (just outside the black doors).

The set comes with six U.S. Army (Union) soldiers:

and the four Outlaws contained throughout other Wild West sets:

The set also includes a small weapon's wagon that pulls a cannon:

And two additional horses for a cavalry:

Conclusion:

This is the largest of the Wild West sets and definately among the favorites of those who like the Wild West theme (always in the Top 10 or Top 20 on Brickset). It was originally released in 1996 as set 6769 and then later re-released as set 6762 in 2002. My version is the original 6769 but I do not believe Lego changed any of the pieces. Not sure about the new box.

This was not my first Wild West set, but definately a great set. It offers an abundance of brown log bricks, black plates, and very nice windows, grey door, and large black castle doors (two sets). The mini-fig count is good, esp. the Army that you can't have enough of. The set contains three horses and wagon (pictured). I Just wish Lego made more outlaws to this theme. I've got 4-5 of each of the Fab Four. Fort Legoredo is very sturdy and the Headquarters a great section for some Wild West action. Overall, the set offers a lot of play, great traditional pieces, and a nice assortment of accessories. I would highly recommend this set if you can get your hands on one (even at a high price ticket). You'll love the set and have a lot of fun with it!

I hope you enjoy this photo review as it is my first; and if you end up finding one, please post your thoughts.

I always thought the blonde haired guy you show as one of the outlaws was a Deputy... as If I recall on the box of 6799 he is riding with the Sherrif to Showdown Canyon... (possibly the most violent idea of a lego set in theory).

But besides that - amazing review! I enjoyed it... I have also never had a good chance to see this set but up close! But I have now!

This is one my all time favorite sets. I saw it in the re-release in 2002. Unforntunatly, I had no money to buy it. (Things haven't changed much :-D )

You definately missed a good one here. I actually had the original in my hands at a local TRU and could not decide if I wanted it or not. I decided wisely and picked it up. It was a year after it was retired, so I think I did pretty good. I didn't bother buying the re-release.

I'm bidding for this on eBay. It's $30.00! What a bargain!

good luck winning it at $30 though. X-D recently a ninja fortress 6093 was only at $31 until the last min, when it climbed to $124. i myself bidded $100, but i still didn't win. :-(

i did win legoredo recently. waiting to see the condition it is in. :-P hopefully it is a keeper.

I'm also trying to win Weapons Wagon and Sheriff's Showdown. I was going to bid on Sheriff's Lockup untill I found out it was missing 7 peices! I really wanted Sheriff's Lockup. :'-(
