Wild West Weapons Wagon 6716

63 Pieces, Released 1996, $7.99 U.S.D.

My first Wild West Set, and the set that started my interest in obtaining all the Wild West sets.

This is a simple little wagon pulled by a single horse, but I think very detailed and a great set.

A view of the wagon. The cannon does attach to the back:

The front, room for a single fig to drive the wagon:

The back view with cannon balls:

Top view, without the cover. The barrels fit on the round hole-piece on each side of the wagon.

In the back is a secret compartment for smuggling guns, swords, money, or gold. By taking on the single black piece in the rear, the contents can slide out without disassembly.

The American non-shooting cannon:

Summary

This has got to be my all-time favorite small Lego set. I love the detail, the accessories, and you guessed it, the overall Wild West theme. My only complaint is why Lego did not use brown wheels? In any case, I had so much fun initially building this set and displaying it in different manners. Buy this set if you can find it. You won't be disappointed.

The guy I got with the set looks different: he has a different torso and face. Also, my canon is a non-shooting one. :/

My cannon was non-shooting. If anyone has an image of the European cannons that shoot, please share. I never saw these before and heard they look different.

What about an Australian shooting cannon? Does that count?

I think they're the same as European ones... :)

BTW I have about 30 or so shooting cannons and only 2 non-shooting ones which look just like the one shown in this thread.

About the set - I think it's great, I like the canvas top very much. I've had a few chances to buy it, maybe someday I finally will...

I loved this set... all the more for its cameo in the mags the year before it came out...I'll have to look up the image...

God Bless,

Nathan

Seems I have many hidden gems. Yeah, I've got this one too. Excellent set. My cannon fires, as do the ones in my multiple pirate ships.

Thank you for the review, TheBrickster!

Like the Sheriff's Lock-Up, I own this little nice WW set, too and I find that it is a great set!

It includes so many weappons and the covered wagon is very well done - it's a pity that TLG didn't release a covered wagon with some settlers, too - but perhaps in the future?!
