Peppermint_M Posted June 30, 2009 Posted June 30, 2009 My latest mod of the Turbo Car. I like this one, this is how it's staying. I challange people to notice something. If they look at another of my MOCs posted today... Quote
Natman8000 Posted June 30, 2009 Posted June 30, 2009 Nice one! I like this one a lot more. Although, I think the front is kinda sloppy and out of place. It is waaayy to bulky, and totally takes away from the rest, which is awesome. I think you should get rid of the plates making it up, and use some slopes to give it the proper hood shape. Quote
Peppermint_M Posted June 30, 2009 Author Posted June 30, 2009 I need more silver slopes to do it justice. I prefer flat fronted cars myself, but I would kill for a 4x4 dark blue hood/roof element to swap with the tiles. Quote

I think that is what is poorly done IMO. Quote
Peppermint_M Posted June 30, 2009 Author Posted June 30, 2009 Oh, right. Well that was a problem I admit. I am still not really sure of how I want it to look, again, the slopes looked off, I couldn't figure how to fit them in without it sticking out further than the bonnet/hood and looking untidy, plus I needed the smooth front for an Idea I had. Rocketbilly Posted July 1, 2009 Posted July 1, 2009 Wow. Really nicely done. I can't afford the Turbocar Chase set, so I bought the green creator car set instead...Street Speeder or something. I modded it to fit a pair of minifigs, gave it hidden computers and pup up missiles in the back.... anyway...getting away from my point now It's a great MOC, It looks a lot more streamlined than the original, which I thought was a little too bulky. So, this fits in the back of your Lorry, does it? Awesome! A great MOC. Will/Rocketbilly Quote

The lorry is a shell that sits over the top and snugly on all sides. I thought it would be a cool way for them to sneak the car into Dr Inferno's HQ. Have you posted your modded street speeder? Sounds really cool, I want to see it now. Quote
Commander Flash Posted July 3, 2009 Posted July 3, 2009 Where the yellow and red lights are, dark bley could go there. The orange lights are good Quote

Ah, all is revealed What a cool idea. well done! Thanks - I've yet to post any of my MOCS, but I plan to soon, then I'll have....a load of Agents MOCS, a few Space Police MOCS, and a few "Space Pirates" MOCS too....and maybe a Bionicle I was working on , but I'l have to see with that one. So a lot of MOCs posted at once. Silly me. Will/Rocketbilly Quote
brickzone Posted July 3, 2009 Posted July 3, 2009 (edited) The back of it looks pretty good and well done getting it down to six-wide profile. Like some of the others I think the front is a bit lacking - but I think it does show the look that you're trying to achieve all the same - that kind of solid and mean front that is in fact intended to be somewhat boxy. You should perhaps add a picture of two of it in the main Agents lorry! Keeping the same approach to the front, I would lower the front two navy tiles by one tile, and I would replace that black flat brick with dark grey or navy. I would also put the SNOT panel on the front the other way up (white/yellow above red/orange above dark grey bumper) and omit the numberplate. But these are just suggestions! Here are some more for further reworking: If you have the wheels from speed racer (they are smaller but one of them has similar hubcaps), with the 6-wide profile it would perhaps work well to use them instead of the original tyres. You could then lower the bodywork and acheive a more "sporty" look. I should perhaps revisit my own mod of the Agents car (the mod to include a pullback motor in roughly the original form factor- thread link) - I'd like to mod it to have the missiles/guns at the front actually covered over to some degree. I paid full price for this set, €60 (silly me - it's been cheaper since) but I don't regret having bought it even so - it's so slick! Edited July 3, 2009 by brickzone Quote
Peppermint_M Posted July 3, 2009 Author Posted July 3, 2009 This is what is meant by the lorry. I suppose it could fit under the Mobile Command too... Thanks for the tips, I was thinking of using the smaller hubcaps, I might change it again if something catastrophic happens to my MOC and the front will probably be subject to re-works until I find something I really like. JimBee Posted July 7, 2009 Posted July 7, 2009 Nice one, Peppermint M. I really like it's sleek and smooth design. My only suggestion would be to buff up the sides, specifically where the doors are. Not having this makes the car have an uninteresting body shape. I think you could make the car's body much more defined by doing this. Good work, though. Quote
