BlueBard Posted July 1, 2009 Posted July 1, 2009 Backstory: 1930, Lego City There are bad times for Lego City people. The baseplate streets are no more safe, not ruled anymore by law & order officers but by the gangs. These criminal organizations are ruining the town by smuggling, gambling, murdering and thieving in a big war for the control of LC, while the Police department tries by all means to stop their activities. Who will rule Lego City streets: the Dante Family, the Asiatic Yun's gang, or maybe the O'Reilly's? Enter the gang war: it's Lego Gangsters! Character done: Tony Dante, aka "Scarface". Leader of the Dantes Family. The MF is TLC elements pure, excepting the cigar, done by me from a brown broom stick. Front: Left: Back: Possible sets: LARGE: - Lego City Police HQ (Includes the HQ, a little prison, Police truck, Police car, 1 detective, 1 Police captain, 4 Police officers and a gangster) - Dante's Family secret Brewery (Includes a large building for the brewery and a small part of a street, a truck, Tony Dante, 4 gangsters, 3 workers, a driver and 1 Police Officer) - Yun's Family restaurant (Includes asiatic restaurant with a secret back shop, Yun's Family boss, 4 asian gangsters, 1 cook, 1 server and 2 clients) MEDIUM: - Street chase (Includes a Police Car and a car from one of the gangs, 2 police officers and 2 gangsters) - Smuggling truck (Includes a medium size truck and 3 irish gangsters) - O'Reilly's secret tavern (Includes a portion of a little irish tavern, O'Reilly's boss, 2 irish gangsters, irish server and 1 client) SMALL: - Police Car (1930's style) (Includes the car and 2 Police officers) - Street Fight (Includes 2 Dante's gangsters, 2 asian gangsters and 2 irish ones) - Lego City citizens (Includes 3 citizens, 1 detective and 1 Police officer) IMPULSE: - Tony "Scarface" Dante - Police Officer - Detective - Asiatic gangster - Irish gangster The pictures are at Brickshelf (when moderated) Thanks for looking! Skinny Boy Posted July 1, 2009 Posted July 1, 2009 The O'Reilly's had to own a tavern, didn't they? But whoah, I would seriously buy all of these. Can you imagine those impulses? And love the fig/story. Quote
BlueBard Posted July 1, 2009 Author Posted July 1, 2009 (edited) Thanks! You're right, those impulses would be amazing, can you imagine a gangster's "army"? Sorry if I offended you, I juts used typical gangster situations, like the asian restaurant I use to work as translator so, believe me, I know how ridiculous stereotypes can be... No not at all. 'Tis all in good fun! BTW, are you thinkin' of making any of those sets? (I hate being lured back into the City and Mob theme every few months ) Quote

(I hate being lured back into the City and Mob theme every few months ) Maybe with some new IJ acquisitions (when finally available in Spain... ) I could do a couple of these sets. Anb maybe interest TLC about a new gangster Line? Quote
Hound Knight Posted July 6, 2009 Posted July 6, 2009 Great theme idea and minifig BlueBard! While I'd love to see this theme, it doesn't seem to fit well with TLG's "no violence policy". Quote
BlueBard Posted July 6, 2009 Author Posted July 6, 2009 (edited) Great theme idea and minifig BlueBard! While I'd love to see this theme, it doesn't seem to fit well with TLG's "no violence policy". Thanks! I agree, it doesn't seem very suitable for kids but we already have a lot of mobish elements in Batman or IJ's themes so, as the "non-official" military theme I think many AFOLs could MOC with Lego Gangsters, and actually they already did so, who knows? Maybe a "light" gangsters theme? Edited July 6, 2009 by BlueBard Quote
