I Scream Clone Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 Falcon's Tower UPDATED I have updated the tower. It now features an eight-sided roof, docks, more foliage, ,more smooth steps and more crazy EB members! I would like to present my latest and biggest MOC to date! First of all I must give credit to Noddy, who's creation inspired me so much from his entry in the CC Collosal Contest back in 2005, that I had to have a go at something similar. Here is a link to his beautiful creation which is soooo detailed. Hope you enjoymy take on an absolute masterpiece. Imperial Shadows, Alice, me, Stash2sixx, Erdbeereis, Hinckley and Svelte having a frolick! Sure to be more Brickshelf and Flickr Cheers and comments and criticism are welcome ISC Quote
Matn Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 Awesome creation, I Scream Clone! It's a beautiful tower and it fits perfectly in the Black Falcon theme. The colors fit really well together. The architecture looks amazing, all those details look excellent. The overall shape of the tower looks really great. The scenery and landscaping are also good. I do feel that the brown tree with the parots feels a bit empty, but the shape makes it up. Quote
Spyder Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 (edited) I think you have a master piece right there! Great work, I just absolutely love the architecture. That little balcony for the princess is great. The tree with the parrots does seem kind of empty like mentioned, but I think it looks good that way. Those mushrooms are another nice detail, as well as the little splash of dark blue on the tower. Oh and did I mention how superb the architecture is? 'Cause it's great! Keep up the amazing work. EDIT: Exactly how tall is it? Edited August 10, 2009 by Spyder Quote
UsernameMDM Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 Dude, that is really sweet looking. Really like all the detailing and the trees. Only thing I would add would be to hang some of the falcon shields somewhere around the gate. Quote
Erdbeereis Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 Really nice work ISC! Your MOCs have greatly improved. The tree on the left turned out very well, and I must say the structure of the building is superb. You did a wonderful job with the angles of the roof and the balcony section of the tower. Interesting idea with the tan tree trunk. Is it a birch? But one thing, you need some bigger posterboard mate. Is this for BW 2010? If so, good luck with the plane ride and I hope to see you there. General Armendariz Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 Fantastic tower ISC! And its Blackfalcons my favorite factin good job i hope to see mmore. Quote
WhiteFang Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 Simply awesome! Now, I know what you have been hiding away for these past few weeks mediating and preparing up this castle moc. The entire Black Falcon tower is very nice, and I love the layout of this tower, right from the roofs to the doors, everything is very detailed, including those nice pine trees, and river. I really enjoyed this very much, and I wonder if I could get you to comission a castle MOC for me. Quote
Norro Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 Interesting shape, imposing height, and some lovely detail work... I like the surroundings and also the exterior supporting struts. The only thing I'm unsure of is whether it is a 'Falconish' fortification, I always imagine them as the simple and sturdy of the Lego world... God Bless (and don't mind me), Nathan Quote
Perterz Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 That's different! I'm digging the architecture and natural look & feel of this creation. Also those trees are interesting, I love foilage you see :) sidenote: is that green exoforce hair as plants? Brilliant! After looking at your creation I clicked on the provided link and I must say you did a very well job on recreating a given MOC to your own inputs. More like this! Kevin. Quote
brickzone Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 A beautiful creation, I love its imposing look and the chunky detail around the battlement and the base, making use of the natural look of Lego bricks. The way the tower rises above the trees is nice, and I like the aura of abundant growth given by the greenery and trees. The diagonal elements lend an interesting look to the creation, not just in the octagonal tower, but the arrangement of the square sections too. As has been remarked upon, the little details on the walls are nice and make it more interesting. There is some beautiful work on the balcony and upper windows (nice using the ball pins). As a black and grey creation the Falcons seem at home in this, though it nearly seems like a wizards tower, or something out of a fantasy world. An impressive creation. Quote
Commander Flash Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 That is a great creation, the trees, the grass, you and stash , and the great shape of the tower are all good points. I like how it has greebles all over it. Quote
Casval Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 That is a thing of beauty. I like just how detailed the building is. Quote
Commodore Hornbricker Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 Wicked! I don't know what I like better the tower or the trees. Great job! Quote
BlueBard Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 WOW, wonderful techniques and design! And what can I say about all the "green" work? BRAVO! Quote
HumanPackMule Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 Wow, just wow. I believe this is front page worthy Quote
I Scream Clone Posted August 11, 2009 Author Posted August 11, 2009 Thanks for all the nice comments. I do feel that the brown tree with the parots feels a bit empty, but the shape makes it up. Me too, something to fix I guess. Cheers EDIT: Exactly how tall is it? 70cm/27' Really nice work ISC! Your MOCs have greatly improved. Im not sure about the transport of this baby to BW, time will tell. Thanks for the comments, and yes I do need some bigger posterboard, also need some good lighting for indoor shots too. Simply awesome! Now, I know what you have been hiding away for these past few weeks mediating and preparing up this castle moc. Thanks WF, it took me about a month of slow building and it has kept me busy and away from EB, though I have a broken computer at the moment which hasn't helped either, using wifey's laptop at moment. Commission, that's a nice thing to say sidenote: is that green exoforce hair as plants? Brilliant! Yup, makes great lettuce. As has been remarked upon, the little details on the walls are nice and make it more interesting. There is some beautiful work on the balcony and upper windows (nice using the ball pins). Wondered if anyone would notice the ball pins up there, its one of my favourite parts on this tower. Cheers all. Quote
Dan the Brickman Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 Lord Falkner approves! the way you gave it the rounded look is nice, and actually works! Quote
JimBee Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 Beautiful work, ISC. I love the roofing and bamboo tree (or whatever tree you call that...). These two aspects give the MOC a nice Asian vibe to it. I also like that you made it a Black Falcons fortress. Quote
saberwing Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 Absolutely amazing! The structures are beautifull and I love all the details like; the mushrooms, forest man fishing, exoforce hair as plants, and the balcony. This is the best thing I've seen today. Quote
Sir Dillon Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 70cm/27' I believe you mean 27". 27' means feet, which would be around 8 meters. I don't think I've seen anything that can stand up with the original tower, but your rendition is very good looking. The structure is close enough to the source to be instantly recognisable, but you made some nice changes too. It's interesting how much of a difference the colour of the tower makes to the atmosphere of the creation. I like the landscaping, though I feel that there should be a bridge or dock in front of the entrance, as it looks odd just leading into the water. I'm not a fan of your roofing solution, it feels too square and too high up from the battlements. I think it could look better if you were to lower it a few bricks, and perhaps add some supports along the edges of the tower. You and Stash is a fun touch, but it seems Stash's fishing pole is defective... no wonder he isn't catching anything! Or maybe he just bashes the fish once you catch them? Quote

Hmm it would appear I don't know the feet inches symbols I feel the same way about the roof, but was unable to come up with a satisfactory result. As for a bridge docks etc it was part of the plan but the space limitations and lack of water space stopped me. Cheers Quote
Captain Blackmoor Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 Great tower! Epicly big already. You've based your tower on a very nice model as well. Awesome. I agree with the honourable Sir Dillon making a little dock in front of the entrance. Keep it up! Quote
Stash2Sixx Posted August 12, 2009 Posted August 12, 2009 WOW BUDDY! This looks fantastic! I looked at your inspiration photos, and yes, they are totally different. When I look at Noddy's, I see death, decay, a barren wasteland; reminds me of something I might see on the outskirts of Moria. When I look at your tower, I see life, growth, and movement. This is not a knock at anyone's work, but just how when looking at a picture, different people can interpret different things. Nice to see how you put a lot of your bricks to good use! The trees look great. Once you get to the top of them, it is difficult to add anything because it's such a tiny space to work with. The parrot tree looks kind of like it's dying, very nice. Your tower definitely looks to be large enough to be an outpost. What the heck is that woman doing in there? Doesn't she know it's not safe? Those two jokers down by the river look like they are planning something though. If I added anything, it would be a big pile of fish behind us! Great job ISC! Quote
I Scream Clone Posted August 23, 2009 Author Posted August 23, 2009 Hi Eurobricks, I have updated my Falcon's Tower with so many new features as well as some members you may recognise. Please take the time to have a look and comment on how it looks now. Cheers ISC Quote
Bammboso Posted August 23, 2009 Posted August 23, 2009 I haven´t seen your old tower, but this one is absolutely fantastic! Great work ISC That´s a very nice idea to include some EB members in the tower. I like it. Quote
