Box

Ah, the box picture. This is one of my favorite shots because it shows the MT-21 Mining Unit drilling into Mars. While it is drilling, an alien is flying in the air being shot at by a rocket. I also like that there is a picture of a plant and space in the background.

Random Page

In this picture, you can see stickers being applied to a portion of the set. You can aslo see the orange wheels going on. In fact, this wheel design is one of my favorites.

MT-21 Unit Packed Up

Here, the Mining Unit is all packed up and is on the move to the excavation site, but an alien is stalking him down by flying in the air.

image003.jpg

Front Part

On the Mining Unit, you can see that there are lots of stickers on the windshield and on the unit itself. Towards the back of the Mining Unit, there is a little spot that holds a radio.

Drilling Unit

Here, you see the Drilling Unit not attached to the front part.

image005.jpg

MT-21 Drilling Unit in Work

This is another great shot of the Mining Unit showing the Mining Unit excavating the ground and the little robot picking up the energy crystals. On the left hand, the alien is flying around the area, checking to see what is happening.

image006.jpg

Birds Eye View

This is what it would look like if you were the alien flying above the Mining Unit.

image001.jpg

Control Panel

This is what you would use if you wanted to operate the drilling unit or fire the rocket.

image010.jpg

Top of MT-21 Unit

On the top, you can see a satellite and a rocket.

image012.jpg

Clip on Robot

This is very interesting how TLC created this. On the back of the Mining Unit, there is a little clip for the robot to stay on and travel with the Mining Unit.

image011.jpg

Minifigs

Here, you can see the two minifigs that are included with this set. A Mars alien and a Mars Mission Astronaut.

image001.jpg

Jetpack

One of my favorite parts of this set is the jetpack that the alien uses to fly around.

image004.jpg

Alien with Jetpack

In this picture, you see the alien wearing the jetpack from a side view.

image009.jpg

Robot

Another exciting feature about this set is the little robot that is included with this set. The little arm in the back helps the robot pick up the energy crystals from the ground.

image002.jpg

Accessories

The accessories that are included with this set are a saw and a radio.

image003.jpg

Help!

This is what happens when you invade Mars.

The Ratings

Build: 9/10 (I thought that this set was really fun to build for a little set.)

Playability: 10/10 (This set has lots of little things you can take off and use to play with.)

Design: 7/10 (TLC has made this set very well, but when you try to move the Mining Unit on a flat surface, it does not work that well.)

Minifigs: 9/10 (This set came with some great minifigs, but it would have been nice if there were another alien included.)

Price: 10/10 (This is a well priced for such a great Mars Mission set!)

Overall Score: 9/10 (This is a very well put together set and came with some great features. I would say you would have to get this set while it is still in stores if you like Space Lego.)

My review on the MT-21 Mining Unit is over. I hoped you have enjoyed reading my review.

My next review is going to be on a suprise!

Until then.

good review, I love the jetpack, and the mini robot. what were the extra pieces

Well, I don't know what the extra pieces are is because when I do my reveiws, it is usually after I open and build the set.

Great review. IMO, this was the best Mars Mission set.

I do have to agree that this Mars Mission set is one of my favorite ones.

My absolute favorite mars mission set !

For 12.99 you got a nice long vehicle that had plenty of parts to it and alot of play value , who could complain.

Indeed, but what would of been better if TLC released a couple of more of these types of sets for Mars Mission, because the other Mars Mission sets weren't so appealing.

The smallest mars mission sets were the best in the lin and most of the large ones were pretty 'MEH'.It's one of the reasons why i never got into mars mission and the same thing is happening with me when it comes to power miners.

If you look at most 12.99 sets now lots of them don't have nearly as much pieces or value as this set does .

This was a great little small set - very 'Classic' feeling and better than most of the MM sets. I liked that it was small, functional, but had fun little details like the clip-on robot. I never really got into the theme, but this and the 7645 Crystal Reaper were probably my favourites.

Thanks for this review! In light of the somewhat disappointing SP3 sets (apart from the minifigs), it does make me revisit what I did like about the theme.

This was my favorite MM set too, and the only one in the theme that I bought. It does have a classic-style feel to it and packs in a lot of features for its size.
