This chapter's kind of short, by the way... (Don't understand what's going on? Check out the profiles of the characters here!) Heading South Day: July 6 Time: 7:43 AM Michael Leighton's House "You let them get away, I still can't believe it," said Michael. "That was yesterday, we got a good night of sleep, and now we can think up a plan." Carter told him reassuringly. *rambling on about their escape* "Why don't we just get in the RV and go after them?" Ed piped in. "..." the crowd was in silence for five seconds. ".... BECAUSE THEY TOOK THE RV, YOU MORON!" Michael screamed as he grabbed Ed's Elvis-esque hair-style and pulled down. "Ow! Ow! Owwie!" Day: July 6 Time: 7:52 An RV. "Well, that hotel had mice, bugs, and moldy carpets. Not to mention my bad had rat poop in it! Some rat chewed on my hair dryer with a wet mouth and got electrified! I'm never staying there again. Hey, Neil? Don't you think that place was awful? Did you smell that stench? It smelled like my mother. I'm never staying there again. James, why'd we stay there? Did I mention I'm never staying there agai-" "YES, WOMAN! YES YOU DID!" James shouted at Danielle. Danielle was over at the mini-kitchen washing off the spyglass. "Sorry! I just thought that..." Danielle began. "... was the worst place ever, yes, we know. You've said it five times now," James finished for her. "Have you ever had the feeling there was a tiny person in your brain?" Neil put in randomly. James glared at him. "No, Neil, I haven't. Neither should you, it's sort of creepy... Just a little bit..." Danielle walked up to the two. "Where are we going now, boys? Out of this entire state, where do we start?" "If what Michael told me was true, we've got to find Neil's cousin, Kevin." "I must warn you," said Neil. "FInding Kevin's going to be like finding a needle in a haystack. He's elusive, and is always moving. I'm sure he'd lend you a hand... If you can find him." "We'll find him. Trust me." "You better be right, James. He's the key to finding the next clue. He has one of the glass ends. Each one supposedly has a clue on it." "I know, I know." "Then get a move-on!
