Hound Knight Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 Vig. 88c In 1814 we took a little trip, Along with Colonel Jackson down the mighty Mississip'. We took a little bacon and we took a little beans, An' we caught the bloody British in the town of New Orleans. We fired our guns and the British kept a'comin. There wasn't nigh as many as there was a while ago. We fired once more and they began to runnin' on Down the Mississippi to the Gulf of Mexico! We looked down the river and we see'd the British come. And there must have been a hundred of'em beatin' on the drum. They stepped so high and they made the bugles ring. We stood by our cotton bales and didn't say a thing. Ol' Hickory said we could take 'em by surprise If we didn't fire our muskets 'til we looked 'em in the eye We held our fire 'til we see'd their faces well. Then we opened up with squirrel guns and really gave 'em ... well... Yeah, they ran through the briars and they ran through the brambles And they ran through the bushes where a rabbit couldn't go. They ran so fast that the hounds couldn't catch 'em Down the Mississippi to the Gulf of Mexico. We fired our cannon 'til the barrel melted down. So we grabbed an alligator and we fought another round. We filled his head with cannon balls, and powdered his behind And when we touched the powder off, the gator lost his mind. Yeah, they ran through the briars and they ran through the brambles And they ran through the bushes where a rabbit couldn't go. They ran so fast that the hounds couldn't catch 'em Down the Mississippi to the Gulf of Mexico. Can you spot all the C-P sigfigs hiding is this MOC? Quote

Emperor Claudius Rome Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 Ahh, The Battle of New Orleans. Americas false claim to victory in The War of 1812. There's a lot of stuff going on in this MoC. I see you added some pirates to make it accurate. But were are the freed slave soldiers? The only CP members I see are: Joey Lock Hornblower (sorry if I got his name wrong) Lt. Col. thok Quote
Joey Lock Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 I spotted me! I shall advance till death for my country! Quote
SWMAN Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 Very nice MOC. The War of 1812 is so often overlooked in history. Oh, and Emperor Claudius Rome, I think you mean America's correct claim to victory. You are just sour that we beat you two wars in a row and then had to bail you out in two more wars. Quote
Emperor Claudius Rome Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 (edited) No, you lost the war. Technically, New Orleans wasn't part of the war. It was fought months after the treaty of Ghent was signed. And the Canadians kicked your Megabl%cks at Queenston heights. Edited August 27, 2009 by Emperor Claudius Rome Quote
Captain Genaro Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 Now don't feel bad British it's just about having fun right? Nice MOC One of the first American ones I have seen. Quote
Derek Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 Very nice, but if you don't mind my asking, why is there and alligator instead of a cannon? Quote
WastedGrunt36 Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 (edited) I only spotted Joey Lock and Hornblower. Edited August 27, 2009 by WastedGrunt36 Quote

Canada was in WW2 before you. September 1939: Canada declares war on Germany. You had to wait till December 11, 1941 to declare war. And whos bigger? Quote

I see you added some pirates to make it accurate. But were are the freed slave soldiers? The only CP members I see are: Joey Lock Hornblower (sorry if I got his name wrong) Lt. Col. thok Just what did the Canadians gain from the war? Eh? Well, I couldn't fit everybody in this size of a MOC, I might make a bigger version later. Very nice, but if you don't mind my asking, why is there and alligator instead of a cannon? "We fired our cannon 'til the barrel melted down. So we grabbed an alligator and we fought another round. We filled his head with cannon balls, and powdered his behind And when we touched the powder off, the gator lost his mind." Love the MOC and the poem-description that goes along with it, awesome work! Thanks, those are the lyrics from Johnny Horton's Battle of New Orleans. And whos bigger? Who has a nicer climate? Quote

Even the French Canadians hated the Americans more than the Brits. Who has the better health care? Horray! Sir Wellington Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 Hound Knight, will you make more copies of the hat for your future store? Quote
