gary_sabol Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 ENTERED Here is my entry for Category 1. I never liked the various Hogwarts Express trains that LEGO put out so I decided to create my own. Drawing on inspiration from those various Hogwarts Express sets, the Emerald Night and various images of the actual engine, tender and coaches, this is what I came up with. I hope you like it. It's not the best picture but I think you get the idea. I will be posting more pics to my Brickshelf account. Gary Quote
Tom Bricks Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 Looks great, I never really liked the official sets either. I would recommend taking more pictures, maybe with a better background though so that everyone can see the train better. Quote
BillytheKid Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 Great idea. Looks good. I also want to see some more pic's of this moc. I also never liked the original design of lego. That's why I build this one: It's based on this set: Quote
badboytje88 Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 If it was an official set, I would now be running off to a store to get it! Lovely! Quote
muffinman42 Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 nice, but in my oppion it dosent capture the looks of the castle class, change the front to the curve that they have. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GWR_4073_Class Quote
gary_sabol Posted September 4, 2009 Author Posted September 4, 2009 Thanks for all the great advice! Here is the link to my Brickshelf folder which shows more detail on the engine, tender and coaches: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=399956 Gary Quote
DaCheese Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 It might not look like a Castle class, but it does look a bit like a Hall! "Hogwarts Castle" seen in the films is actually 5972 Olton Hall. Very nice work Gary. One day Lego train sets will look like this sort of thing hopefully (but with PF). Quote
muffinman42 Posted September 10, 2009 Posted September 10, 2009 ah, halls and castles look nearly the same and the names missleading. but the halls also have the curved front. Quote
