LegoJoe Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 (edited) Motivation: The Death Star has always been one of my favorite things in Star Wars, but to the Lego company , "Death Star" has always meant "$300+". I created this to combine some of the main elements of the DS into a small, playable set with unique features, special techniques, and hard-to-find minifigs. S@H Description The Death Star is under attack, and it's up to you to defend it! Send out you imperial troops armed with blasters and transport the laser cannon to the site of the battle! Don't forget to slide closed the working blast doors to keep the Death Star safe! Includes 2 Death Star Troopers, 1 Stromtrooper, and 1 Imperial Officer minifig. Year: 2009 Set Number: 8041 Set Name: Death Star Battle Pack Ages: 5-12 Piece Count: 86 (including minifigs) / 70 (excluding minifigs) Minifigs: 4 Price: $10.99 Box Art: Minifigs: Sliding Blast Doors: Complete Set: Laser Canon and Transport: More pictures: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=403113 Thanks for looking and enjoy! Fumoffu Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 Very nice BP. Where do I go to buy a few? I need more of all those minifigs. I like the chair on that speeder. Very clever. Its a very playable set with the sliding door and speeder. Quote
simonjedi Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 I like this battlepack, nice choice of figs and the sliding door is very cool. the only thing i don't think fits is the little hover cart, i don't think it fits, personally i'd put a mouse droid (if it doesn't count as a fig) and a little armoury/control panel (the blue lit semi circle one from the jedi knight games.) LegoJoe Posted September 26, 2009 Author Posted September 26, 2009 Very nice BP. Where do I go to buy a few? I need more of all those minifigs.I like the chair on that speeder. Very clever. Its a very playable set with the sliding door and speeder. Thanks! I originally designed that chair as a recliner, but I liked it so much I've been using it in different colors for just about everything! I was thinking about selling a few copies of the set in my BL store, but I'm not sure about the real price yet. Quote
Eskallon Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 I love the blast doors but the transporter does not fit like Simonjedi said. I would have changed it to a type of control panel or one of these below: Quote
prateek Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 That's awesome! The corridor is a really good idea! Quote
Zorro Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 Good review! And an awesome set. I actually might buy this one if it was a real one due to the fact I have so few Star Wars minifigs and I want some more . Quote
Darth Legolas Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 Hello! Looks like I've found my dream battlepack! I love the minifig choices and the sliding door. The laser transport also looks a lot like the other speeder's Lego has made. Quote
the horrorist Posted September 27, 2009 Posted September 27, 2009 These minifigs are true army-building types. I like the whole set. There's everything, part diorama and a vehicle. When I see this I have the urge to buy several of these. Makes me wonder what the counterpart battlepack would have been. Quote

LegoJoe Posted September 28, 2009 Author Posted September 28, 2009 What's your motivation? Thanks for pointing this out, KimT, I completely forgot about that! The motivation has now been added. Quote
pedro Posted September 28, 2009 Posted September 28, 2009 Nice entry LegoJoe! Your battle pack looks like it has loads of playability! I think your sliding door is ingenious, the speeder/hover-vehicle makes a great addition and your figure selection is really good - I'd love more of 'em Death Star Troopers! Best of luck in the contest. Quote
CommanderFox Posted October 1, 2009 Posted October 1, 2009 (edited) Cool! I really like the sliding door and the Transport is nice aswell but like the others said it does look abit out of place. The figs are a nice choice especially the printed stormie legs would LOVE to get afew of those. Good luck! CommanderFox Edited October 1, 2009 by CommanderFox Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 That's an awesome entry, LegoJoe! I really it! It definately is the perfect Imperial BP! The minifigs as well as the scenery and the small vehicle go all perfectly together. This would be an amazing BP since 1. it would give those people which can't afford the DS a small Death Star scenery to play with and 2. it would offer the DS Trooper/Imperial Trooper in a cheap(er) set so that you can get many of them. Very, very well done! Klaus-Dieter Quote
