Posted October 3, 200915 yr Hello dear fellows! As suggested, I'd like to present some more mini models to you. But as I'd feel bad to only announce already published models, there will always be one or more unpublished or redsigned ones among them. I thought it would be best to organize them in small themed groups besides the standard sorting by episode. Please also let me know if you like the concept or if you think that's a bad and unadequate idea. I will only post unpublished models then, but these get more and more rare, as so many already have been built. -------------------- I am sure all of you will remember the scene in Episode I on Watto's junkyard about a replacement Nubian hyperdrive... That's the beginning of our first mini model story: Nubian starships! The new one is the Freefall-class Bomber from the PC games "Starfighter" and "Jedi Starfighter". The J-327 Royal starship had been completely redesigned recently, as my older version was too large. There are new photos for all Nubian ships now. All images are links to the relating galeries. -------------------- Throughout the three prequel movies, there appear a number of starships of Nubian style. One major starship in Episode I for sure the streamlined yellow Naboo N-1 Starfighter. These little fighter are often used to escort the larger royal and diplomat vessels such as the Naboo J-type 327 Royal Starship and the Naboo J-type Diplomatic Barge. Besides the N-1 Starfighters, there are also some other designs of Nubian starfighters, like the N-X Police Cruiser, the NB-1S Bomber or the Freefall-class Bomber (which has just been updated today!). Other smaller ships like the Naboo H-type Yacht or the Naboo J-type Star Skiff are fast and maneuverable enough to not need any escort. The H-type Yacht also appears in the new Clone Wars animated TV series. If you're a fan of that series, you will have noticed another new class of Nubian craft in the episode "Blue Shadow Virus". It's the Naboo S-130 Shelter Speeder, an atmospheric vehicle. The Shelter Speeder is of strange shape but has the same colour sheme as the N-1 Starfighter which brings us to full circle and ends our little story for now. -------------------- The message of this story is to not have aversions for bley or old grey colours. Don't avoid either old or new grey shades. Look at them as an enrichment for the parts variety. There are many valuable mini builder's pieces which only come in either bley or old grey shades, for example the incredible "Space Nose" piece. Mixing both colours in one creation is a different thing. That's it for today. Thanks for your time and stepping by. Have a nice sunday! ~ Yours Christopher Edited October 21, 200915 yr by KimT
October 3, 200915 yr This is a smashing idea! I love your minis and this first set is great. I love how they all literally look like legit LEGO mini's.
October 3, 200915 yr Very very nice! I'm really digging these. Nice work and I can't wait 'till the next set
October 4, 200915 yr Cool Minis Nicely made aswell The size looks almost smaller then minis, to me, but that makes them so cute! Great job CommanderFox
October 4, 200915 yr When I look at your minis my first impulse is: Wooooooow! I want them all and I want to build minis too. They are definately awesome! But unfortunately I´m not patient enough to build them... must take you quite a long time to figure out..,. great work... Have you ever thought of making dioramas with your minis? Must look great! I´d love to see some of them together... keep up the great work and don´t feel bad about posting "old creations"... GREAT!
October 4, 200915 yr The N-1 is always the best, but the NB-1S bomber is great too. They are my favourites but they are all above average, in most cases great. But that's my opinion as I like the starfighters and bombers better than those cruisers.
October 4, 200915 yr I have seen these on Brickshelf before but still, I am very impressed. You got some of, if not the, best Star Wars mini models. And then lots of them, all well built, all with instructions. Very cool. And good to see you are on Eurobricks, I never noticed so far.
October 5, 200915 yr Author Hello again, and thank you very much for the nice comments! I will continue with that type of story posts next week-end, as my real-life job keeps me busy the entire week. And thank you that you pointed me to he word I was lacking: "set" is the appropriate description of the kind of image compilation I used. By the way, Rob, I am only active here since a few days, so no worries that you haven't noticed earlier. I have registered 2 years ago, but never posted since then. See you around! ~ Christopher
