Jerac Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 (edited) A bit late Christmast gift for Starcraft and Lego fans: the mother of all SC ship in Lego. 80 studs long, 5 kilos, 3 large BL orders and few smaller, month of work. The ship design is based on the in-game model, not the movie version, so altough I had a basic sketch of proportions, I had also a free hand on details. Flickr, Brickshelf. Big Cam Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 I'm not familiar with the game but the ship is amazing, it's so big and looks like a UCS set. What are the bat like things?? (I'm sure I'd know if I was familiar with the series) The color scheme really works, and I like what I assume it a large amount of blue missles on each side. Very nice design. Quote
pedro Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 I'm a huge fan of Starcraft and that is outstanding Jerac! You've captured the shape and details beautifully; I love your Mutalisks too! It must have taken a while to get those angles working together so well. Great work dude. Quote
Milan Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 What are the bat like things?? (I'm sure I'd know if I was familiar with the series) I think these are Zerg creatures, one of the three species in Starcraft. Awesome MOC, I can just imagine how much effort you have put in it! Quote
Trexxen Posted January 1, 2010 Posted January 1, 2010 Wow! This is awesome =D As a huge fan of Starcraft, I have to say that you've captured the Yellow Team's battlecruiser perfectly! =D I must say, though, I'd love it if the mutalisks were to-scale - a bit unreasonable, given their size in-game, but it's still awesome =D Now...why does nobody make Lurker MOCs? =P ~Trexxen Quote
Quarryman Posted January 2, 2010 Posted January 2, 2010 Shields up, weapons online! This is amazing Great greebling, great colours, the overall shape is excellent, and those mutas just top it all off Quote
lightningtiger Posted January 2, 2010 Posted January 2, 2010 I'm not into Starcraft, but I love great looking space craft and yours is AWESOME ! And I would not want to face all those blasters at the same time ! Great work, 'Jerac' ! Quote
Legorski Posted January 2, 2010 Posted January 2, 2010 Amazing Battlecruiser... And the Mutalisks look great too..... Made my day! Polaks Rule! Quote
Davor Posted January 2, 2010 Posted January 2, 2010 don`t usualy comment non-starwars or castle MOCs but had to coment on this one! this is awesome! Excellent work! Shape is great, size is great, made me wann aplay starcraft again after all this years! And Zerg`s rock! Quote
snefroe Posted January 2, 2010 Posted January 2, 2010 it looks fantastic! this must be one of those rare mocs where plastic wheels actually look good! also you got the general shape pretty well, i especially like the aft secion. it's not always easy to get the different angles pretty well with plates and bricks, but it seems it work out just fine. hope Lego's watching this! are you, Mr. Lego? i'm think "starcraft licence --> ucs battlecruiser" a shame it's not MF-sized, but i guess that's a WIP, right? as in "hmmm... let's do this thing in miniscale first, we'll get to the real moc afterwards", right? Topsy Cret Posted January 2, 2010 Posted January 2, 2010 Most impressive! The Battlecruiser has always been a favorite of mine. Great work! "Battlecruiser operational!" Quote
Zorro Posted January 2, 2010 Posted January 2, 2010 I'm amazed by the level of detail into your Starcraft Terran Battlecruiser. I loved to play Starcraft back in the days. I also heard Starcraft II was developped, don't know for sure its out yet but I'd guess it is. Time for a trip to the games store for me! Quote
Blaver Posted January 2, 2010 Posted January 2, 2010 Take it slow...make it happen. I love Starcraft, and the way you did this makes it so utterly awesome! I also like how the mutalisks are to scale  Quote
castlestrike666 Posted January 2, 2010 Posted January 2, 2010 daaamn.. it's all I can say right now.. my mouth is too wide open.. Quote
Darkness Falls Posted January 2, 2010 Posted January 2, 2010 Ah, Starcraft. How I love you. Great job! Awesome detail, and the Mutalisks are a great touch. A faithful rendition of one of the most powerful ships in the series. And, to those who said the Battlecruiser was not in scale with the Mutalisks, that's incorrect- Battlecruisers are huge and have hundreds of Terran operating them- they were scaled down in the maps of the game. Quote
Legostein Posted January 3, 2010 Posted January 3, 2010 Hello there! Well, I don't know anything about "Starcraft" but nonetheless I am impressed with what you presented to us here. This immense capital ship is a vast source of great building techniques which can be found all over the ship. Besides the huge greebling amount, I am especially fond of that brick-built name you embedded in the ship's hull. Excellent build, thanks for sharing it! Cheers, ~ Christopher Quote
Strand Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 (edited) The things are mutalisks, the basic Zerg flying unit in the game (and probably the most popular for Zerg progamers). Amazing stuff! EDIT: The more I look at it, the more little details pop out. Like all the little gun batteries, broadsides etc in the hull, the Yamato cannon nestled in the 'head' etc. After the also incredible Terran BC earlier this month, they just keep getting better. I'm wondering whether a Protoss Carrier or full-blown UCS-like Galactica is next. Edited January 4, 2010 by Strand Quote

Yea. The in game scale isn't consistent or accurate. Hell some of the missions take place inside battlecruisers, and science vessels. The marines and other ground units are the same size in the battlefield and inside the ships. I like the mutalisks. Any chances of other Starcraft related MOCs? Quote
Thee Pirate Posted January 7, 2010 Posted January 7, 2010 I'm amazed by the level of detail into your Starcraft Terran Battlecruiser.I loved to play Starcraft back in the days. I also heard Starcraft II was developped, don't know for sure its out yet but I'd guess it is. Time for a trip to the games store for me! It's been under development for quite some time, and the release date keeps on getting pushed back. Last I heard it was due out 3Q10. I think the original release date was two years ago. I'm just tired of that date getting pushed back all the time. At least when Blizzard finally releases its games, they're damn near perfect. Quote
Rarah Posted April 6, 2010 Posted April 6, 2010 gauss cannon loading and ...... FIRE!!! AWESOME work!!! Quote
TerranCmdr Posted April 7, 2010 Posted April 7, 2010 I'm awestruck. The detail is nothing short of amazing. You've captured the Battlecruiser perfectly in my opinion. Just when I've forgotten how long I've been waiting for SCII to come out, there you go and remind me again. :P Nice work man, really great job. Quote
gunm Posted April 7, 2010 Posted April 7, 2010 Thanks for bumping this...stunning, amazing job! Right down to the mutalisks! Quote
Fires-storm Posted April 7, 2010 Posted April 7, 2010 Wow, a truly amazing and beautiful craft, nice work to be sure mate! The detail is stunning, and pretty much everything about this ship is perfect Quote
phool Posted April 9, 2010 Posted April 9, 2010 Seriously sexy! I'd love to see yellow swapped out for the green (may favorite of the available colour schemes) used in the game. Quote
