Selander Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 This T44 was built in 123 units, and is the most common diesel-electric freight locomotive in Sweden. Besides from hauling goods between our mayor cities, it's also often used as a shunter locomotive on goods terminals. Some units were even exported to Norway and Israel (!). The classic colour scheme for Swedish state railways version of T44 is orange base and dark blue top, which is quite good colours to copy in Lego (since both colours are relatively easy to find...). Windscreen is the normal 2 x 6 x 2 with special decals that I made. T44 on pictures is operated by Green cargo company. Hope you like it. Comments welcome as ususal. Here together with original engine... And here with a RC4 electric locomotive in the background. Same as above but without original locomotive. Quote
pdxbricks Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 Very nice MOC, I really like the color combination!! Also, decal works great, the color is matched well to the dark blue. Quote
Mirandir Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 (edited) Love it and blogged it. Since I grew up and still lives quite near the main line ("Stambanan") in nothern of Sweden I've seen that engine pass by countless times. So for me this is a real classic. To bad they've seem to have been demoted to "just" be shunter locomotives around here theese days. Haven't seen one pass by here for years now. Edited January 29, 2010 by Mirandir Quote
lightningtiger Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 You have done it again, Train Genius ! 'Selander' your latest is fantastic - talkin' about raising the bar, but you have ! Only thing now is - how long will it take for this to go front page......you deserve it ! I'm a conformist! !!!! Quote
Leergut Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 Good Morning, the surface of this freight locomotive looks very good. My first thought was, that it is a metal locomotive model (Märklin e.g.). Especially the blue front with the slightly sloped blue 1x8 tiles an the centered 1x8 tile right behind this section is cool.. Leergut Quote
patje Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 it is well done we have in Belgium also a few years a new diesel in turn Quote
WesternOutlaw Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 Very nice Selander. I love the color scheme. The orange and blue go very well together. How did you create that top windshield piece? Is that a custom decal? I like the long snout of this locomotive, and it's nice to still see 9V train MOCs. Front-paged! Quote
legotrainfan Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 This is a really supberb locomotive with a great window! The colours scheme looks extremely nice. Your engine is also very detailed. Quote
Duq Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 That's a really good looking train! Those window decals are very well made. Quote
gotoAndLego Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 It looks really good, but comparing it to the photo I think it needs to be a little taller. Quote
pdxbricks Posted January 30, 2010 Posted January 30, 2010 Selander, could you share the template for the decal, I'd like to make one for the engine I'm currently making? Quote
