lightningtiger Posted February 16, 2010 Posted February 16, 2010 Being a teenager in the early to mid eighties, then becomming a hi-fi tech I remember cassette tapes well - I some times prefer them to CD - anyway your design is simply AWESOME ! You have caught every bit of detail including the spindle holes, tape guide holes and the overall shape ! Great work 'lego-maniac' and I'm a conformist! ! Quote
74louloute Posted February 16, 2010 Posted February 16, 2010 Oh what a surprise ! I was looking for inspiration on EB, and I found the perfect idea for the L13 contest !! But, oh wait, the Moc is from lego-maniac !! Superbe Moc soit dit en passant, j'ai hâte de voir la version finalisée ! Quote
Ar Sparfel Posted February 16, 2010 Posted February 16, 2010 Oh what a surprise ! I was looking for inspiration on EB, and I found the perfect idea for the L13 contest !! But, oh wait, the Moc is from lego-maniac !! Same reflexion A very good idea indeed ! Quote
Princess Muttonchops Posted February 16, 2010 Posted February 16, 2010 Awesome MOC lego-maniac! Seriously, at first glance I thought it was a picture of two cassette tapes (ignoring the size difference). Ah, it gives me flash backs, playing the same tape over and over until the tape starts to get chewed up in the cassette player, slowly driving everyone around me crazy. Ah, good times... By the way, how did you do the reels? Good luck with the contest. Quote
Izzy Posted February 16, 2010 Posted February 16, 2010 Ahhh tapes I remember you (mostly because my cd player is broken and now I can only play tapes on it) That is incredibly accurate!!! Well done and good luck for the comp. Quote
Big Cam Posted February 16, 2010 Posted February 16, 2010 That is extremely accurate, great job! Quote
lego-maniac Posted February 16, 2010 Author Posted February 16, 2010 Thanks a lot for your comments. to Louloute & Ar Sparfel : oh my god, I am unmasked! For the bands, I'll show all details as soon as I finished the tape. I still wondering if the whole tape in black is a goud idea. Maybe the lower part should be dark gray to better see the difference in level. What do you think about it ? Quote
Holodoc Posted February 16, 2010 Posted February 16, 2010 Very well done, legomaniac! If you had shown a photo of your MOC only, I would not have realized it was made of Lego. Amazing! Good luck with the contest. Quote
lego-maniac Posted February 17, 2010 Author Posted February 17, 2010 (edited) so here is the final version just posted for the contest ! The 80's Audio Tape in 100 parts more pics HERE and here Hope you'll like it. Is there anyone know how to change the subject of a topic ? I would like to change "(WIP) THE 80'S AUDIO TAPE !" by " 80's Audio Tape Final Pics" Edited February 18, 2010 by lego-maniac Quote
LuxorV Posted February 17, 2010 Posted February 17, 2010 Really great job here, lego-maniac This kind of things are always interesting to see in LEGO form, and for some reason we are always surprised to see them, because they are the things we expect the least! Good luck for the contest! LuxorV Quote
lego-maniac Posted February 19, 2010 Author Posted February 19, 2010 Hi ! All entry of the contest could be seen on Legopirate's forum I think you can find nice MOC on this page ! End of the contest February 26 ! Quote
Tobbe Arnesson Posted February 19, 2010 Posted February 19, 2010 Wow! I saw the first photo and thought it was a real tape to show what you wanted to build. Upon closer inspection I realized it was a tad too thin. Very well done! But 100 bricks is not under 100 bricks, now is it? ;) Did you write "Made in BELG UM" with no 'I' on purpose? Quote
Harrison Bored Posted February 19, 2010 Posted February 19, 2010 This is so cool! Where do you store it? on the wall? Quote
Zorbas Posted February 19, 2010 Posted February 19, 2010 That's just amazing! As others have already said, you can't really tell if it's LEGO or a real cassette. Excellent work! You brought some great sweet memories from the '80s to me... Quote
lego-maniac Posted February 19, 2010 Author Posted February 19, 2010 (edited) Hi Thanks all ! For The Made In BELG UM the "I" didn't work during the transfert and it was my only i ! The MOC is in my son bedroom and I think it last 2 or 3 days with 100 parts maximum ! He'll catch some parts for his own MOC soon. 100 parts is the maximum parts allowed without minifig. @Zorba : "mixtapes on" Edited February 19, 2010 by lego-maniac Quote
prateek Posted February 20, 2010 Posted February 20, 2010 I thought the first picture was a real cassette, then I saw the bricks You have this contest in the bag. Great job Quote
