I Scream Clone Posted April 21, 2010 Posted April 21, 2010 Mine? Mine! Mine. Sometimes you have to head underground in Tombclone to find the gold. Come see how the locals make their way through these hard times with the hopes of striking it rich one way or another. (All pics are links to Hi Res images ) They's got our gold! Strange blind grey frogs and magic mushrooms are the only wildlife in these parts. Ya idgit! Ya dun lit tha dynamite! Some additional pics on Flickr. Full set on MOCPages. Cheers and thanks for looking. ISC. Quote
Forresto Posted April 21, 2010 Posted April 21, 2010 You my good sir, Bamboozled me! I was expecting a scene from Valkeryie Just joking! Very nice mine. My two favortite parts of it (even though there are many wonderful things about it) is the waterfall, and that scaffolding. Well I lied, I also really love the mine entreances, the technique there is very clever. Good job! Quote
Lord Arjay Posted April 21, 2010 Posted April 21, 2010 Thats really nice and humorous. Too many faviorite parts to list but I love the scaffolding. Well Done! Quote
Sisco Posted April 21, 2010 Posted April 21, 2010 Fantastic work yet again, ISC! I really love the hilarity you've injected into it. Quote
lightningtiger Posted April 21, 2010 Posted April 21, 2010 AWESOME 'ISC' smegging AWESOME ! The rocky side of the mine itself - EXCELLENT, as too the shaft equipment. That poor guy with the TNT - oh well hope his medical insurance is paid up ! Again you have come through with another awesome design 'ISC' and I'm a conformist! always ! Quote
Sir Dillon Posted April 21, 2010 Posted April 21, 2010 Great work ISC! The variations in the cliff face keep it interesting, and I like all the wooden supports throughout. The minifig action is good and really brings the creation to life. In a way it looks like both sides of the creation are outdoors, and the mountain has been mined so much that this little chunk of rock is all that's left. I doubt that's what you intended, but it adds to hilarity of the scene imagining it that way. Quote
RoryoCox Posted April 21, 2010 Posted April 21, 2010 Very fantastic. The "Woodwork" is really realistic. The stone and all the features are really good looking. Well Done Quote
Commodore Hornbricker Posted April 21, 2010 Posted April 21, 2010 Incredible MOC (as always) and beautifully photographed. I love the dripping water and the scafolding. The lit TNT is clever as well. Totally amazing Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted April 21, 2010 Posted April 21, 2010 That's a great Western MOC, I Scream Clone! I really it! It shows many interesting and partly even funny scenes and is built very accurately. Very well done! Btw: Why did you add a crane to the mine since there is already a lorry train? Klaus-Dieter Quote
beans Posted April 21, 2010 Posted April 21, 2010 Awesome mine shaft and I love the mushroom build! Quote
gunm Posted April 21, 2010 Posted April 21, 2010 I love the mine car chase! Great details and a really nice build. Quote
Svelte Posted April 21, 2010 Posted April 21, 2010 Love the lit dynamite and the creepy blind frogs and shrooms! Nice rock technique keeping it slim and vertical - quite different from the more squat mine MOCs we often see Quote
ZO6 Posted April 21, 2010 Posted April 21, 2010 Wonderful creation you've got here! Just a week ago I broke down and picked up the Temple of Doom set as I wanted to complete my IJ collection - it reminded me how much I love seeing mine mocs. I really like the detail that you've packed in while keeping everything relatively compact. The captions that you've added are quite humorous as well. Quote
I Scream Clone Posted April 21, 2010 Author Posted April 21, 2010 Cheers for all the nice comments guys Great work ISC! The variations in the cliff face keep it interesting, and I like all the wooden supports throughout. The minifig action is good and really brings the creation to life.In a way it looks like both sides of the creation are outdoors, and the mountain has been mined so much that this little chunk of rock is all that's left. I doubt that's what you intended, but it adds to hilarity of the scene imagining it that way. At one stage I considered making it an outside build just to give the ground some more colour, however went for the more historical underground approach. I do like the hilarity of the mountain being mined to almost nothing. That's a great Western MOC, I Scream Clone! I really it! It shows many interesting and partly even funny scenes and is built very accurately. Very well done! Btw: Why did you add a crane to the mine since there is already a lorry train? Klaus-Dieter I wanted to show off the scaffolding technique i came up with to enable the quick movement of gold up to the higher levels. Also a great way of bringing the carts back to the top of the track. Awesome mine shaft and I love the mushroom build! Hey, Mario can't be wrong. Love the lit dynamite and the creepy blind frogs and shrooms! Nice rock technique keeping it slim and vertical - quite different from the more squat mine MOCs we often see Exactly, you got my idea perfectly, all the other mines we see tend to be squat, I wanted a vertically designed mine to show off other levels of detail. I was toying with using black cardboard for darkened backgrounds, and may yet try in future. Wonderful creation you've got here!Just a week ago I broke down and picked up the Temple of Doom set as I wanted to complete my IJ collection - it reminded me how much I love seeing mine mocs. I really like the detail that you've packed in while keeping everything relatively compact. The captions that you've added are quite humorous as well. I still need to track that set down one day. Glad you enjoyed the wildlife of Tombclone. Quote

the Inventor Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 Great work, ISC. I really like the rock surface, with some gold bricks hidden everywhere. The action going on is also very well done. Are those crossbeams in the wooden tower attached? the Inventor Quote
einsteinonthebeach Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 Nice job ISC! Love the crossbeam technique, looks like they are not attached but I assume they're quite snug? The rock work is superb! Mark Quote
Admiral Croissant Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 This is an awesome MOC! Good work on the railroad and nice use of the grey frogs. I also like your mushrooms. The rocks are also great with the upside down part in it. Good job! Quote

I Scream Clone Posted April 23, 2010 Author Posted April 23, 2010 Those rail tracks are really well done! Thanks, I designed the space to fit the carts perfectly, they roll quite nicely along. Once again a very nice creation ISC! Amazing detail and the cliffwork is very nice.I like the tiny waterfalls and the gold hidden everywhere in the rocks. Job well done! I tried to incorporate some veins of gold to keep the miners keen. Amazing work!I very like the rails and fountain.Gold in the rocks are also good idea. The waterfall came together well, i just had to remember to include it on the side as i built upwards on each module. Great work, ISC. I really like the rock surface, with some gold bricks hidden everywhere. The action going on is also very well done. Are those crossbeams in the wooden tower attached? the Inventor The crossbeams are a snug fit, and have a bar inside to hold the ends together. Nice job ISC! Love the crossbeam technique, looks like they are not attached but I assume they're quite snug? The rock work is superb! Mark Cheers Mark, glad you like the rock work. Tried to mix it up including the upside down section, though this came about from loads of slopes and no inverted slopes left This is an awesome MOC! Good work on the railroad and nice use of the grey frogs. I also like your mushrooms. The rocks are also great with the upside down part in it. Good job! Those grey frogs were crying out for use in a dark environment. Not SNOT... SIED (Studs in every direction!)Very cool and inspirational. ...and who doesn't like studs in all directions. Cheers guys. Josh. Quote
Toa_Of_Justice Posted April 25, 2010 Posted April 25, 2010 Great work, I Scream Clone! I think the guy with the lit dynamite should head for the waterfall to put it out...before it's too late! My favorite parts are the waterfall, mining cart track, big crane, and realistic woodwork. -Toa Of Justice Quote
