Peppermint_M Posted May 16, 2010 Posted May 16, 2010 Five ninja hiding. This is the first of 16 planned "bigs" to showcase the figures I got in the box of 60. Can you spot all the ninja? I decided upon the 16x16 baseplate for the neatness of numbers and the fact that it can have five minifigures plus scenery, but will not swamp three figures. The max/min numbers being 3 of each up to 5 included in a box. I hope to have one a day until all 16 are covered, but it may slip if I can't keep up the builds... Quote
Rick Posted May 16, 2010 Posted May 16, 2010 Can you spot all the ninja? Eeeehm, let's see... I hope to have one a day until all 16 are covered, but it may slip if I can't keep up the builds... That's a neat idea Peppy. Looking forward to the other 15. I especially like the blossoming tree in this one. Quote
Zorro Posted May 16, 2010 Posted May 16, 2010 Yes, a good idea for a project you were looking for! Please share them all . Quote
Darth Hawken Posted May 16, 2010 Posted May 16, 2010 Cool idea! I was thinking about doing a similar thing but I'll have to wait till I get my box in June Quote
sok117 Posted May 16, 2010 Posted May 16, 2010 Good idea, a suggestion though would be to keep all of them in one post, that way it could be like a series instead of having the nurses in the town forum, the robots in the sci-fi froum, the zombies in the other forum, and so on. But anyways, I can't wait to see your next creation. Quote
Rick Posted May 16, 2010 Posted May 16, 2010 Good idea, a suggestion though would be to keep all of them in one post, ... Well, you could always make an index thread once they're all done. Quote
Tom Bricks Posted May 16, 2010 Posted May 16, 2010 I feel like its one of those children's shows where the main character is staring at the screen asking the audience to find something and it is obviously behind them. great job on the vig and i look forward to seeing the others. Quote
Peppermint_M Posted May 16, 2010 Author Posted May 16, 2010 Thanks guys. Glad you like the tree, I am working on different techniques I am going to index them once it is all done. Shadows suggested I post each big in the relevant sub-forum (plus it means more people will see the ones they would be interested in). After all, the figures are too diverse for one place. I am also going to make them a Flickr Set, or Brickshelf folder once I have finished them all. Each big will feature theme appropriate scenery, but at a slightly small scale, like a "Small World" scene or themed minigolf hole . Quote
Big Cam Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 Very clever, it makes me jealous that I can't buy these yet. I found them Quote
lightningtiger Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 Great idea and I think they are Ninja's-in-training as I found them all ! I'm a conformist! ! Quote
Peppermint_M Posted May 17, 2010 Author Posted May 17, 2010 Funnily enough, there are actually 17 ninja hiding in the image, however, as the profile page for the ninja explains, he isn't very good a hiding . Quote
brickzone Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 I'm reminded of the Monty Python sketch, "How Not to Be Seen" :) Quote
not-in-use-anymore Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 Well, at least that one in the lower left was hidden enough for me to only see him after the first 1.5 seconds. Quote
Peppermint_M Posted May 17, 2010 Author Posted May 17, 2010 Next Big is Up!. Glad everyone likes this one, hope you like the second. Strangely, historic themes are quite prevelant in the collection. Quote
WhiteFang Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 Great start to this challenging vig! Can I spot all of them? Of course, I do. I find this creation, evenly spread instead of being so cramped and at the same time, having so nice details such as the flowing river and terrain features. Quote
Hewman Posted May 20, 2010 Posted May 20, 2010 Although the spaceman is definitely my favourite of the figs you've used, this is definitely the best display. If I saw it in a shop display I'd be yelling "mum, I want it, I want it". To which she'd reply "son, you're in your 30s, stop emabarrassing me" Quote
squiz Posted May 20, 2010 Posted May 20, 2010 Couldnt help but be reminded of your moc when i saw this news article Quote
BrickPerfection Posted May 24, 2010 Posted May 24, 2010 "Hiding" Ninjas I still very much like the relatively large amount of detail and the general idea! Just figured it out today, should have posted earlier... Quote
Ras 74 Posted May 24, 2010 Posted May 24, 2010 A nice bignette! Like your little tree with the flowers. Good idea of a serie as well. Quote
