Toa_Of_Justice Posted June 4, 2010 Posted June 4, 2010 (edited) Here is another LDD MOC of mine... Undersea Hauler ^Click for a bigger picture^ Front Rear Rear 3/4 Top LXF File Brickshelf Gallery (when public) (Note: When saving the LXF file, make sure the extension is .lxf and that it is being saved as "All Files!") After the Deep Sea Salvage Crew finished their business in Atlantis, they turned to carefully managed undersea oil drilling. First, huge reservoirs were built underwater to contain the oil. Next, hoses with drill ends were directly attached to those reservoirs. Once drilling brings oil directly into each reservoir, vehicles such as the Undersea Hauler stop by and drink their fill of oil. Then, they surface from the water, drive along our highways, and deliver their oil to us surface-dwellers. The Undersea Hauler can traverse the seabed or fly through the water. It has a detachable hose on the side to empty out its massive fluid tank. In addition, there are four adjustable propellers, five maneuvering flaps (two of them convert into mudflaps!), two side-view mirrors, two stabilizing fold-down feet, and an opening cockpit. My model is based off the Seabed Truck starter model from LDD. Take me to your leader comments! -Toa Of Justice Edited June 7, 2010 by Toa_Of_Justice Quote
user Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 (edited) Nice MOC Sir Toa! The design is really nice but it feels like other than the color scheme this doesn't look like an atlantis creation. So in short It looks great but it doesn't look very underwatery it looks more like PM or a space creation. Edited June 5, 2010 by computerbug Quote
LuxorV Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 Looks cool, Toa_Of_Justice. It is indeed in style with the rest of the Atlandis sets and opens the way for new story developments! Do you plan on doing more of these? Quote
-R8- Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 That's a pretty interesting take on Atlantis, and the design in my opinion seems to correlate with the Atlantis theme pretty well. I like how it almost seems to be an amalgamation between the Atlantis and City themes. Personally, I think that this would look great along with the Atlantis Exploration HQ or the Undersea Explorer. lightningtiger Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 AWESOME LDD MOC 'Toa_Of_Justice' - an underwater type of Eagle from Space 1999 (of course in spirt though) ! I'm a conformist! ! Quote
Toa_Of_Justice Posted June 6, 2010 Author Posted June 6, 2010 (edited) Thanks to everyone for the nice comments! Looks cool, Toa_Of_Justice. It is indeed in style with the rest of the Atlandis sets and opens the way for new story developments!Do you plan on doing more of these? Unfortunately, I don't plan on doing any more Atlantis LDD MOCs. Inspiration for creations such as the Undersea Hauler doesn't come up often enough for me. Also, my time is rather limited, as I am in college now. That's a pretty interesting take on Atlantis, and the design in my opinion seems to correlate with the Atlantis theme pretty well. I like how it almost seems to be an amalgamation between the Atlantis and City themes. Personally, I think that this would look great along with the Atlantis Exploration HQ or the Undersea Explorer. I agree with what you said. I think the Atlantis Exploration HQ would be the better of the two companion models for the Undersea Hauler, but I think the Undersea Explorer is the best Atlantis set ever--I can't wait for mine to arrive from LEGO Shop at Home! AWESOME LDD MOC 'Toa_Of_Justice' - an underwater type of Eagle from Space 1999 (of course in spirt though) !I'm a conformist! ! Unfortunately, I have never seen Space 1999, but after I found this picture of the Eagle, I can see the resemblance. -Toa Of Justice Edited June 7, 2010 by Toa_Of_Justice Quote
