ACPin Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 (edited) A group of Naboo soldiers with a Gian speeder await Captain Panaka's command to engage the Trade Federation Droid regiment creating a diversion to steer them away from guarding the hangar entrance. Commentary: The last pic was photoshopped to add the lens flare, if not allowed I'll substitute the original without the lens flare. Two 16x32 tan baseplates were used as base footprint and there's no overhang whatsoever as the various pics show. Took a couple of days to design, the Gian speeder alone took two days to build until I was satisfied with it and less than two weeks to complete. As with the other two entries, I've kept the design and build true to the scenes, no gimmicks necessary. Here's a reference pic that I found for this scene. Unless KimT finds something that requires a change to comply with the rules, this is the final version. Comments and suggestions are welcomed but I won't be making anymore changes as I've got to get going on the Large scene. Enjoy viewing more pics here or by clicking on any pic above before posting your comments. I'd also appreciate if you mention what details you liked about it or not. brickfoot Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 OH man that is really good I will have to make tons of changes to my Moc before I enter it. Quote
Dan the Brickman Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 It doent matter where you go in Theed, the buildings and scenery are all beatiful. Something which you captured in this moc. Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 As always, great architecture on the Naboo structure AC! I also love your version of the Gian speeder, much much better than the official set. Good luck on the contest! Quote
Solitary Dark Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 That's a really nice scene - the speeder is great. The only suggestion would be to introduce some colour in the buildings other than tan, perhaps sand green or light brown, just to give the buildings a more realistic look compared to the original scene. This will help it look aged also. The foliage attached to the walls looks nice. Quote
Ras 74 Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 Very good creation AC. It is a very good choosen scene from Ep. I. I like the clean look it has and also with the added interior. Quote
ACPin Posted June 9, 2010 Author Posted June 9, 2010 Great job Ac. OH man that is really good I will have to make tons of changes to my Moc before I enter it. Did you expect anything less? It doent matter where you go in Theed, the buildings and scenery are all beatiful. Something which you captured in this moc. As I've been on the TPM theme lately, might as well continue it with this. As always, great architecture on the Naboo structure AC! I also love your version of the Gian speeder, much much better than the official set. Good luck on the contest! Tried to get that speeder designed more like the one in the movie and good thing I got the bricks in the right colors. That's a really nice scene - the speeder is great. The only suggestion would be to introduce some colour in the buildings other than tan, perhaps sand green or light brown, just to give the buildings a more realistic look compared to the original scene. This will help it look aged also. The foliage attached to the walls looks nice. Actually considered mixing up the tan but I didn't have enough dark tan bricks to cover. Very good creation AC.It is a very good choosen scene from Ep. I. I like the clean look it has and also with the added interior. Just rolling along with the Naboo MOCs and couldn't let the filler space stay empty. AC Quote

RileyC Posted June 10, 2010 Posted June 10, 2010 Nice entry AcPin Its good that you didnt try to add heaps of detail but its really subtle in this MOC. The use of the quarter pipe piece is really cool but how did you get it upside down? Quote
the Inventor Posted June 10, 2010 Posted June 10, 2010 Great entry, ACPin I really like that speeder, and of course those Theed buildings. A shame you don't have enough of the right mini-figs. the Inventor Quote

You'll find it with the rest of the pics, back up to the commentary. Oh man, his looks really good . It's MOC's like this that makes me happy I got back into Lego. Join in the fun by doing your own! Nice entry AcPin Its good that you didnt try to add heaps of detail but its really subtle in this MOC. The use of the quarter pipe piece is really cool but how did you get it upside down? In the actual set, the front building with the arch was just a plain octagonal shape structure and not much detail except for the windows. That's for you to figure out! Great entry, ACPin I really like that speeder, and of course those Theed buildings. A shame you don't have enough of the right mini-figs. the Inventor Didn't want to order from BL just for the minifigs so I just made up some. WOW, more of that!!!! Nicely done! Love the speeder More pics of the speeder are available in the full gallery. Gee I wonder what it is like to make beautiful things like AC But that is a wonderful creation! It looks almost exactly as if it would be in the Lego Star Wars game! Wonder no more and just start building. Nice MOC as always. Is that Panaka to the left? If it is, he's not white- err... yellow. Always something to pick about... AC Quote
ThatGuyWithTheBricks Posted June 10, 2010 Posted June 10, 2010 AC, if you win first and get the white boba, I command you to make a MOC for it! Quote
ACPin Posted June 11, 2010 Author Posted June 11, 2010 AC, if you win first and get the white boba, I command you to make a MOC for it! Too early to be thinking that as I'm sure most will probably wait until the end to post their entries. I'd rather not wait that long as the next entry for small category is in progress. AC Quote
Scout Trooper Guy Posted June 11, 2010 Posted June 11, 2010 that was an EPIC MOC! i like the building and the speeder! Quote
funkybrick Posted June 11, 2010 Posted June 11, 2010 Hey ACPin, extremely cool MOC! However, I can't help but think that the would maybe be better in dark bluish gray or something? Anyway, Quote
The Legonater Posted June 11, 2010 Posted June 11, 2010 Always something to pick about... Nothing more fun than finding the imperfections ina near- perfect model. Quote
