It seems that Star Command have decided they need some help to defend the universe from the Evil Emperor Zurg, but they want to do it on the cheap, so here we have the answer the Alien Space Ship

Lets start with the poly bag it comes in

300700-01.jpg

Flying through space not much else to say

Now lets have a look inside at what we get in this small bag

The contents of the bag.

A quick look at the instruction booklet.

A quick look at the very long and complex instructions provided

Honestly I'm not just filling space

The Minifigs

Only one, the Little Green Man (LGM) I'm quite glad to be able to get one without having to splash out 19.99 on the Build a Buzz/Zurg sets.

Front.

The Space ship

On to the craft very quick simple build produces a rather Classic Spaceish scooter craft you the LGM to fly though the universe on. Though quite how he copes with vacuum I don't know.

Overview of Scooter.

Now a quick comparison with the other Star Command vessel we have and we see that Star Command either works on a large or a small scale nothing in between.

Scooter and Star Cruiser.

Finally a look at the set all together

Complete set LGM on scooter

The Rating System

Figures: 9/10 (Honestly I love the LGM)

Parts 6/10 (Not much really.)

Fun Fun Fun 4/10 (Not really much you can do but that's true of all poly bag sets, though there is some swooshing to be had)

Design 5/10 (So so, nothing we haven;t seen before)

Price 10/10 2.29 (I eat huge amount of fruit anyway so it was just £24,99, I was expecting more and I'm more than happy to pay this for this set.)

Grand Total 33/50 (It's great for the LGM not so great as a set.)

Conclusions

Lets be honest this set is about one thing and one thing only, getting a LGM without paying 19.99. In that it does it's job while I would like to be able to buy a bucket of LGM in one go rather than sending off for them I don't mind. The scooter is secondary and not very important but well executed so I have no complaints on that front, it's just sad this set isn't widely available but poly bags never seem to be anywhere.

And finally an unfunny comic page

You got this from Tesco?! :oh: Which one?

I'm getting some! Nice review. I like the simpleness of the set, and it reminds me of little toy planes I used to have. :classic:

You have to buy certain fruit products and cut out the tokens and then send them off in order to get the sets, so you can't just walk up to tesco and buy them, if you could they'd be none left in London by now!

Is the offer valid oversees (in the USA)?

Yes or no,

Can I hae some info on it?

Nice little selection of parts. I have five tokens so far, one more and I'll send off (these two plus the one from Build-a-Buzz will give me three aliens, the perfect number!). I probably won't even bother building the ship, it's all about the little green dude!

Very funny review, cheers!

What I find amusing with this set is the number of extra parts. 5 extra pieces for a set that has something like 29, it must be an all-time record!

Great review. Across the pond in Canada, I just found the alien ship at my local Toys R Us. $4.99 for one and still the best way to get the LGM. Simple build but effective none the less. I like it and it allows me to have an army of LGM at a more reasonable price than getting them in the larger sets. It might just be hard to find for some though.
