Capt.JohnPaul Posted June 15, 2010 Posted June 15, 2010 Here is a film I made about the war of 1812. I posted it in the brickflick forums but I thought you might like it. I am pleased even though it's not the best, I saw few light flickers and maybe some bumps. Quote
Emperor Claudius Rome Posted June 15, 2010 Posted June 15, 2010 Tecumseh was a hero. He fought in order to keep the Native lands free from Greedy Americans. The War of 1812 was just used by the US as a excuse to get more land through conquest. Quote

The War of 1812 was just used by the US as a excuse to get more land through conquest. Actually, the British bribed, encouraged, and supported the natives to attack America. So the Americans are really the ones defending themselves. They were moving west because they were overpopulating. Tecumseh was a hero. He fought in order to keep the Native lands free from Greedy Americans. The War of 1812 was just used by the US as a excuse to get more land through conquest. Sorry for the double post, but if America is SO greedy, why is Canada BIGGER? Quote
Emperor Claudius Rome Posted June 15, 2010 Posted June 15, 2010 (edited) You invaded Canada, a barley guarded colony just so you could have more farmland. Natives back then supported the British because they thought Americans were evil And they were right. And what do they teach in American Textbooks? The British weren't bribing the natives. The natives were willing to fight. Sorry for the double post, but if America is SO greedy, why is Canada BIGGER? The northern territories barley count. Nunavut is just a huge Native reserve. Emperor Claudius Rome Posted June 15, 2010 Posted June 15, 2010 If you don't like your neighbor so much, move to russia, it's just as cold. Your the one acting hostile. I just said a historical fact, and now your telling me to move to Russia? Quote
Capt.JohnPaul Posted June 15, 2010 Author Posted June 15, 2010 Your the one acting hostile. I just said a historical fact, and now your telling me to move to Russia? A historical fact is that America needed to get rid of the brits once and for all. And wasn't Canada in british control at the time? Quote
Emperor Claudius Rome Posted June 15, 2010 Posted June 15, 2010 A historical fact is that America needed to get rid of the brits once and for all. And wasn't Canada in british control at the time? Yes. And we where happy. Even the Canadien where happy under British rule. Quote
Capt.JohnPaul Posted June 15, 2010 Author Posted June 15, 2010 Well, they were taxing us incredibly high, thats why the tea party happened, could we now drop this, I never was racist or said anything about evil native americans. YOU called US EVIL! Quote

YOU called US EVIL! Oooooh, high taxes. How horrible, trying to pay to keep our government stable. How bad. Quote
Capt.JohnPaul Posted June 15, 2010 Author Posted June 15, 2010 Oooooh, high taxes. How horrible, trying to pay to keep our government stable. How bad. Don't forget without representation... Again, we must drop this, I never said native americans were evil. You called us evil first. So really, if anyone is being bad, it's you. Quote
Captain Genaro Posted June 16, 2010 Posted June 16, 2010 I liked your brickfilm. I think that it could have been a little longer with some more hand to hand combat and more broadsides fired between the ships. I noticed some bumps but nothing too major. I can't wait to see the next film. Also, why are we talking about taxation in the war of 1812? The war of 1812 occured because the French and British were attacking American merchant ships and forcing the crews to work on their warships. The British bribed some Indians while others just joined the fight. America invaded Canada because it was sending supplies to troops in the mid west and the east coast. Quote

You called us evil first. So really, if anyone is being bad, it's you. Um, first of all everyone has an opinion, and let's not get too harsh. No one is evil, simply guided by their own wants and needs. For example, the war started with the invasion of the Canadian town of Sandwich, which, in my opinion, isn't very nice. Who would hurt a town named Sandwich? Anyone who hurts a town so tasty? On the other hand, America had perfectly good reason to push up the border. According to president Jefferson it was simply "a matter of marching.". This was an important war for the U.S. too, who where being restricted of trade by the British. By invading Canada they could shoot some guns, make Britian love them and give them all the Reese's Pieces from last years Halloween, and find those weapons of mass destruction. "Rarely is the questioned asked: Is our children learning?" George W. Bush PS: Sorry, eh?... ...Good animation though, but needs a higher frame-rate. Edited June 16, 2010 by the last chronicler Quote
Major Lars Posted June 16, 2010 Posted June 16, 2010 (edited) Awesome film! I especially liked the mast falling down. Did you have another person doing the voices or was it just you? And silly Canadian, If you don't have anything nice to say dont say anything at all. Edited June 16, 2010 by Major Lars Quote

Yes, I know, as my brickfilm and my next one will show that. The taxation thing you will understand if you read emperor claudius's posts and my posts. But thanks for the comments! Awesome film! I especially liked the mast falling down. Did you have another person doing the voices or was it just you? And silly Canadian, If you don't have anything nice to say dont say anything at all. In fact, at the end, you could read the credits, I'm sure once the main part ended, you stopped watching and thought that was all. Quote

Capt.JohnPaul Posted June 16, 2010 Author Posted June 16, 2010 What is this "credits" you speak of? I guess you might be in a different country, these "credits" are at the end and say who did what and who to give credit too. Quote

Big Cam Posted June 19, 2010 Posted June 19, 2010 The film was pretty good. It's not hollywood quality but it's a pretty good LEGO film. I'll definetaly watch more if you make them. Quote
Zorro Posted June 19, 2010 Posted June 19, 2010 Nice film, but this discussion about natives, British rule and such better stops RIGHT HERE AND RIGHT NOW (not ONE more post about it!) or I'm going to take more drastic measures to stop it. I'm fairly certain there was no intention to insult someone, and everyone should respect each other's cultural differences! Thanks! Quote

Thanks for the comments though, Sine I'm going on a trip I wont have time until later this summer. Thanks Capt.JohnPaul Quote
