Courleciel Posted August 7, 2010 Posted August 7, 2010 (edited) Hello everybody ! I present you my first diorama. I began to work on it since January. The scene represents a french assault on Ypres (in 1914). Soldiers wear the uniform with red trousers. Here are the photos: The diorama's size is 32x64.. The Trans Plate 1x1 round represents the bullets effect. I use MdStone and OldLightGray for the ruined building. The original concept of the trench: The minifigs: Credits to Brickmania for the machine gun, and inspiration. More photos on Brickshelf (when public). Hope you enjoy. Feedbacks are welcome, thanks ! Fires-storm Posted August 7, 2010 Posted August 7, 2010 Wow, this is an amazing scene with an incredible sense of action and beautiful landscape, well done! The only think I would suggest is resizing your pics, as the maximum is 800x600 I believe. P.S, how on earth did you build that crater? I can never figure curves out. Quote
Courleciel Posted August 7, 2010 Author Posted August 7, 2010 P.S, how on earth did you build that crater? I can never figure curves out. First, I made a prototype. Quote
Ezechielle Posted August 8, 2010 Posted August 8, 2010 (edited) Very nice work on the trench. Seeing the uniforms of your French soldiers (and the date -1914) I suppose you finally won't make a FT-17? Edited August 8, 2010 by Ezechielle Quote
lightningtiger Posted August 8, 2010 Posted August 8, 2010 EXCELLENT MOC 'Courleciel' - fantastic trench and bomb crater - very clever use of plates and tiles in the right places. Keep up the great work and I'm a conformist! 'Courleciel' I'm a conformist! ! Quote
Courleciel Posted February 6, 2011 Author Posted February 6, 2011 (edited) Hi everybody ! I made some modifications since the last time. You can see that the minifigs are better, the cross and the machine gun are smaller, there is more barbed... and the photographs are better ! Enjoy ! And feedbacks are welcome of course. Admiral Croissant Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 Nice MOC. You did a good job here. A crater, barbed wire, trenches..it's got the essential WW1 parts I do think the trench could have been made with less straigt lines (it's exactly the same width everywhere), and you could put some more stuff (equipment and tools) in there. I like the soldiers and the custom barbed wire. And WW1 sure is an interesting theme. Quote
gcanik Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 Love the way you built the crate depression, only suggestion would be to add some 1x1 plates or slopes of brown (not reddish brown), dark tan, or tan to show the discoloration in the dirt as the layers go down. Nicely done! Quote
joeygunns Posted February 11, 2011 Posted February 11, 2011 Thats a great diorama! well done! you should be proud of it! Quote
LEGO Guy Bri Posted February 11, 2011 Posted February 11, 2011 Excellent work Courleciel You captured a battle scene very well. Great job on the details from the trench, to the crumbling church, to the massive crater! Quote
