Gerrard Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 I tried updating this by using tips given to me by various members, I hope it turned out better! Sorry for the bad pics, I have no cameras in my house that take decent pics of legos. :( Updates: - Slightly more angled wings. - Smoother wings. - New cockpit area, no so bulky and messy. - Second wing underneat is farther back. - Assorted bricks in different places. New: Old: Wing: Front: Back of Cockpit: Back: Thanks, please tell me what you think and once again sorry for the bad pic! Quote
Brickdoctor Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 Not bad, but is this a fanon creation? According to Wookieepedia, a D-wing looks like this: Quote
lightningtiger Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 Cool Republic attack craft 'Gerrard' - sort of reminds me of a Cylon Raider (original series) ! Great designing even though it doesn't look like the one in 'Brickdoctor's picture. I'm a conformist! 'Gerrard' I'm a conformist! ! Quote
brickfoot Posted August 21, 2010 Posted August 21, 2010 I like it gut I have to agree with Brickdoctor that it does not look like a D-wing. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted August 21, 2010 Posted August 21, 2010 I like it gut I have to agree with Brickdoctor that it does not look like a D-wing. Maybe I should clarify, I'm not saying it looks bad or inaccurate. I was asking if it was intended to look like the canon D-wing, because if it wasn't then it's a good design. Only if it was intended to look like the canon D-wing would it be a bad model. Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted August 21, 2010 Posted August 21, 2010 Hmmm, not bad but I personally don't like a couple of the major elements: 1) the cockpit is too small and cramped IMO, the pilot is literally almost lying down and he does not look comfortable in that position. Maybe you could make it bigger so that the pilot can have a normal sitting position inside. Or is that 'lyding down' position normal like in Slave I? 2) the wings are too "thick" for a starfighter that size. I don't know if I'm just used to sleeker wings but maybe you could lessen the thickness a bit. That's a good start and you could always improve it Gerrard. Quote
Gerrard Posted August 21, 2010 Author Posted August 21, 2010 Thanks guys, it wasn't based off a D-Wing, I named it a D-Wing because there are two wings on each side. But thanks! Quote
