Legostein Posted October 17, 2010 Posted October 17, 2010 Hello everbody! It's sunday again, and I found a little time for another contribution for the community. Today it's Darth Maul's infamous Sith Infiltrator as introduced in "The Phantom Menace". The general class behind this special vessel is the Republic Sienar Systems' Star Courier, a vessel with very limited production number. If you want to know how the Star Courier made its way to Coruscant and to Darth Maul, I recommend the novel "Labyrinth of Evil" by James Luceno. One thing I always loved for this ship was its green engine glowing during landing and take-off on Tatooine. The more happy I was to use trans green for the engines, a very rare colour for these. For the wings I used trapezoid flags, and the new 1x2x2/3 slopes worked decently here. Click here for building instructions. That's it for now. Thanks for stepping by and have a great sunday! Yours Christopher. Quote
Darth Jar Jar Posted October 17, 2010 Posted October 17, 2010 Wow this looks fantastic I will have to build this with the instructions Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted October 17, 2010 Posted October 17, 2010 Great mini-representation of the Sith Infiltrator, very spot-on as always! The use of the trapezoid flags are just perfect for the wing flaps. Quote
lightningtiger Posted October 17, 2010 Posted October 17, 2010 Another AWESOME mini creation from you 'Legostein' ! I'm a conformist! and .....may the force be with you......always ! Quote
Mr Man Posted October 17, 2010 Posted October 17, 2010 Hmm Very good I think it looks a tad to short, however still very good. liking the trans green engines, however aren't they supposed to be blue? All in all a very good job Legostein. Sorry for the criticism Quote
def Posted October 17, 2010 Posted October 17, 2010 I'm a fan of the Infiltrator, so I'll give it a go once you have your Brickshelf approved. I think you really captured it well. Thanks. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted October 17, 2010 Posted October 17, 2010 liking the trans green engines, however aren't they supposed to be blue? Nice job on the ship, Legostein! Quote
Milargo Posted October 17, 2010 Posted October 17, 2010 (edited) Hey Lego, make this a Brickmaster set! Really sleek design on this one, clever use of the screw drivers, good use of the vent-slopes and trapezoid flags work perfectly. I consider this to be one of the few good things of The Phantom Menace. (Along with Red Letter Media's review, gotta love Plinkett ) And THANK YOU for building instructions! I want this one sitting on my desk. Edited October 17, 2010 by Milargo Quote
Ceroknight Posted October 17, 2010 Posted October 17, 2010 How come LEGO can't make it like this? Its great I like all your mini builds and hope there is more! Quote
Legostein Posted October 18, 2010 Author Posted October 18, 2010 Hello! Thank you for all the nice feedback which is very appreciated. Of course there are more models to come, however we are approaching model No. 200 so it's getting more difficult to choose vessels which are known by the people. More expanded universe vessels I sense... Cheers, ~ Christopher Quote
Milargo Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 we are approaching model No. 200 I hope that means you'll make a special 200th anniversary model! Quote
