XimenaPaulina Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 (edited) Hey guys, This is my entry for the Everyday Life in the Galaxy Vignette Contest. This is a combination of my first contest in the SW forum and second overall in Eurobricks. After the announcement was made, I immediately thought of this idea. I never expected I would finish this in such a short and very early time frame. I never really 'forced the issue', I just started building and it's just everything seem to have fallen in place I guess. So without further ado, to kick-off the entries and start the party, here's my entry: Kielito Buu's Hair Salon & Spa is the premiere hair styling salon in all of Coruscant which is frequented by the who's who of the entertainment, political, and business world of the capital city of the Republic. Located in the Vos Gesal Street in Coruscant's Uscru Entertainment District, this establishment was founded, operated, and being managed by Kielito Buu, a wealthy entrepreneur from a mysterious planet of fat pudgy pink species. Operating for more than 25 years now, Kielito Buu's Hair Salon & Spa is known for the best hair care, treatment, and style in all of the galaxy - that even the conservative jedi, ruthless siths, and even clone troopers make it a point to visit for a day of hair relaxing. Overview: A closer look inside: The Lounge Area and Main Hair Styling Area: Hair-heating modules and Full-body massage chairs: Central Payment Station and Entertainment for the Clients Link to Hi-Res pics: KielDaMan's flickr page Details: Whole salon area is 28 x 28 on a 32 x 32 baseplate. Special thanks to: - 7676 Republic Attack Gunship - 7993 Service Station - Collectible Minifigure Series 1 - Jedi Shuttlebus Well, that's it! I would certainly appreciate your feedbacks, comments, criticisms, and suggestions. Thanks and enjoy! - KDM Edited November 12, 2010 by KielDaMan Quote
-JD- Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 Great entry Kiel! Very fast too, for such a detailed scene! The techniques you've used are excellent (love the 'Heating Modules' and Cave-Clone)! Well done. Now I must go, and make a better entry. Quote
prateek Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 Best entry so far! Seriously though, great job. I love everything going on. It's really busy, which I like. The hair care professionals look very fit for the job too  Quote

Masked Builder Posted October 19, 2010 Posted October 19, 2010 Nice work! I like what you did here. Quote
JimBee Posted October 19, 2010 Posted October 19, 2010 That's pretty funny. I like the clone that looks like he spent too much time away from the mirror, and Mace Windu. Well done. The building itself is also pretty good. Great techniques, especially with the hair dryer things. The only suggestion I would have is to add a (removable) roof. Good luck in the contest. Quote
KimT Posted October 19, 2010 Posted October 19, 2010 Well done KielDaMan Great work on the MOC and nice detailed description. I can understand why Chewie is a hair dryer nightmare Also thanks for adding it to the flickr Eurobricks Contest Pool - it's about time we got some MOC's there Quote

XimenaPaulina Posted October 20, 2010 Author Posted October 20, 2010 thats so cool! Best of luck! Thanks ceroknight! Nice work! I like what you did here. Thanks MB! That's pretty funny. I like the clone that looks like he spent too much time away from the mirror, and Mace Windu. Well done. The building itself is also pretty good. Great techniques, especially with the hair dryer things. The only suggestion I would have is to add a (removable) roof. Good luck in the contest. Thanks JB! Thank God for the Series 1 minifigs, I actually used all of the hairpieces there (spot 'em all), and the Caveman one is just perfect for this. Regarding the roof, I didn't make one since I wanted an open top to showcase the different scenes in the interior. Besides, I don't have much parts left (that's how small my parts collection is ) Well done KielDaMan Great work on the MOC and nice detailed description. I can understand why Chewie is a hair dryer nightmare Also thanks for adding it to the flickr Eurobricks Contest Pool - it's about time we got some MOC's there Thanks for the kind comments KimT! The Chewie bit is actually inspired by this witty reply from LuxorV in the SW Photography thread. Yeah, I was also surprised that there was close to nothing in that flickr page. BTW, is that dedicated to all EB contest entries or for SW entries only? Quote
