Atin Posted October 25, 2010 Posted October 25, 2010 (edited) Theme: Pokemon Character:Blastoise Cost: Total cost for paint, new paintbrushes and rubber bands: 5-6$. Extra Images:Extra and larger images can be found here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/atin800/sets/72157625116969549/ An avid JRPG fan, the 17 year old Jeremy Testudine, loves anything to do with Pokemon. So when his parents surprised him on Christmas day with tickets to comic con he knew exactly what he was going to go as. After several months of careful planning and preparation he started on his Charizard costume only to have it go up in smoke when a jock at his local high school lit it on fire when Jeremy was on his way to the Anime club. After much time of wallowing in depression at the destruction of his beautiful costume Jeremy decided to give it one more shot and created his second favorite Pokemon, Blastoise. By the time he finished SDCC was only a week away and he packed and headed to the con. After a restless night of anticipation he got up, donned his costume and started walking to the convention center. Little did he know he would be stopped every 5 feet for a photo shoot. Entry Picture #1. The required overall shot for the Vignette Entry Picture #2. The required front view of the Minifig. Entry Picture #3. The required side view of the Minifig. Entry Picture #4. The required back view of the Minifig. Entry Picture #5. A extra picture showing the pains of trying to unzip the costume. I hoped to have this uploaded last Friday but real life got in the way. Im pretty sure I fallowed all the guidelines and such and I hope you enjoy this minifig! ~Atin Edited October 26, 2010 by Atin Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted October 26, 2010 Posted October 26, 2010 Yay! Another Pokemon! Very nice entry Atin! I love the custom Blastoise, I like the unconventional techniques you did there. Best of luck in the contest! Quote
SilentMode Posted October 26, 2010 Posted October 26, 2010 Very original idea, and excellently done. I never would have thought of using that technique for the shell and cannons. Quote
LuxorV Posted October 26, 2010 Posted October 26, 2010 Very professional custom, Atin. Just one thing: you use up to 8 pictures, but our contest rules only allow for 5 (total vig, front, back and side of the fig and a pic of choice). Please change 3 of the additional pics to links. Thank you Quote

Thank you My bad, I thought as long as I clarified which ones were entry pictures and which ones were extra it was OK (Like in The Penguin's "Greatest Fan"). I will change them to links though! Quote
LuxorV Posted October 26, 2010 Posted October 26, 2010 Thank you very much, and good luck for the voting Quote
Blockburn Posted October 27, 2010 Posted October 27, 2010 I like this one a lot! Like a few other people have said, that is a great technique for making that shell. And i think that the zipper on the back is very, very clever! Quote
