Skrytsson Posted November 10, 2010 Posted November 10, 2010 An airplane crash, an isolated tropic island, mystical events. I am probably not the only fan who has followed all the Tv-show Lost’s six seasons. After watching the final episode of the final season this May, I have suffered quite a bit from “Lost-abstinence”. However, during the late summer I found out what to do about it; why not immortalize this fantastic Tv-show by rebuild some of the most interesting scenes into Lego bricks? After a lot of building, rebuilding, trouble with LDD, Bricklink-buying, rebuilding again and photographing I have four creations “finished” (I will probably rebuild them again…) to share. Enjoy and tell me what you think! - What Is Lost? I want to know more about the show - Deeplink to my pictures First of all... Creation 1 - The Hatch Minifigures: Four - Jack Shephard, John Locke, Kate Austen and Hugo Hurley Building time: Several weeks Pieces: appr 640 Size: 32x32 studs Weight: appr 790 g Season/Episode: 1/22 "We are meant to open this, Jack." "No, Locke. We are not meant to do anything on this stupid island!" From the left: Hugo Hurley, Kate Austen, Jack Shephard and John Locke. Creation 2 – Inside the Hatch Minifigures: One - John Locke Building time: Several weeks Pieces: appr 300 Size: 13x16 studs Weight: appr 220 g Season/episode: 2/1-22 "4-8-15-16-23..." Creation 3 – The Black Smoke Minifigures: One – Mr Eko Building time: A couple of days Pieces: appr 50 Size: 8x16 studs Weight: appr 40 g Season/episode: 2/19 From the left: Black Smoke and Mr Eko. Creation 4 – Dharma & Torture Minifigures: Four – Sawyer ”LaFleur”, Juliet Burke, Sayid Jarrah and Benjamin Linus Building time: A few weeks Pieces: appr 490 Size: 32x32 studs Weight: appr 550 g Season/episode: 5/7-16 "You will speak, it's just a question about how much pain..." From the left: Benjamin Linus, Sayid Jarrah, "LaFleur" och Juliet Burke. Bonus-pictures: We got a new minifig hero! "Welcome you are, my friend". ...and one more villain! "So... What's your speciality, my dear?". "Manipulating people's thoughts? How ridiculous! HAHAHAHAHA!". Quote
Plissken Posted November 10, 2010 Posted November 10, 2010 Wow, this is great. I love Lost and your creations capture the series perfectly. The fourth one is my favorite, the van is fantastic. Also I like your method to make Hurley a bit bigger than the other figures. Good idea. At last a question, which head did you use for Locke? It looks pretty good, but I don't know from which theme it is. Quote
Professor Flitwick Posted November 10, 2010 Posted November 10, 2010 As a long time fan of Lost, I must say this is brilliant. The Dharma van is nothing short of brilliant, as is your Ben, Eko, Sayid, Locke and Sawyer. Your technique for Hurley is also great! Though I must say I find Juliet's face slightly too... glamorous. It just doesn't really remind me of her; I don't recall her waring that much make-up? Quote
StoutFiles Posted November 10, 2010 Posted November 10, 2010 These are awesome. I wouldn't consider Ben a villain though, especially in the last season. Quote
CorneliusMurdock Posted November 10, 2010 Posted November 10, 2010 Excellent figures and MOCs! Very accurate, too. If TLG made them, they'd look like this! Quote
Tanotrooper Posted November 10, 2010 Posted November 10, 2010 Awesome creations, the minifigs look great (love the design on Hurley!) and the scenes are instantly recognisable. Good job! Quote
SpiderSpaceman Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 needs more Desmond! (and maybe a little WAAAAAAALT) these are great To Flitwick - Minifigures series 2 lifeguard is the spittin' image of juliet. Sadly, it wouldn't fit with the fleshies. Quote
De-Brickifier Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 The fourth creation was my favorite! They are all awesome though. Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 This is just an amazing work of art, I was literally mouth agaped when I was browsing through this just in pure awe. Great work on the custom minifigs, every detail on each of them is very accurate to the real characters. And even more impressive job on recreating the unforgettable scenes of the series. You really did a lot of fantastic techniques there, like the trans-black pieces for the smoke, the brickbuilt fat belly, the slitted decal for the timer number, and the baby blue van is simply beautiful. I'm instantly a fan of your creations Skrytsson, my hats off to you Sir! Quote
Darth Yogi Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 Wow these look great. Must have taken you a long time. My favorites are the second and forth. That bus is awesome. Really represent the pictures you have shown, although I haven't watched any of the episodes Great job Quote
Tyleraf Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 Love your LEGO Lost. Everyone looks spot on. Also Plissken, I think he used this head for Locke. Clicky Quote
Joebot Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 Those are really great! Ah, I miss that show. I loved it even though it drove me crazy. Quote
Sandy Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 I love these MOCs, and I especially love all the minifigures - it's amazing how you've made them so accurate without any decals! An admirable feat, no question. It's a funny coincidence that I'm using many of those same faces and torsos in my upcoming new comic as well, but that's mostly because there's not as much variety in fleshie faces as there is in yellow faces. Quote
RoryoCox Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 Very nice. You captured the details of everything really well, all of the minifigures are nice and detailed. Quote
Fonzy Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 Very close to the TV-series. Great casting of the minifigs. Looking foreward to more scenes. Quote
Masked Builder Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 Those are great! I don't watch Lost but I love that Van! Quote
buddy Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 Great MOCs, the minifigs look exactly like the real people in photos (I don't watch Lost)! I especially like the van! Well done. ~buddy~ Quote
Skrytsson Posted November 11, 2010 Author Posted November 11, 2010 Thank you everyone for your nice comments. I appreciate that! Thank you! I am pretty satisfied myself about the creations. And just like you say, Darth Yogi, it has taken me a long time! But I have been patient and thought about it, again and again. Especially some of the minifigures took me a long time to figure out how to make. I wouldn't consider Ben a villain though, especially in the last season. You are right about that. However, he is one of the main villains in many of the episodes. Maybe I should have grabbed the black smoke to the picture with the Joker instead? Though I must say I find Juliet's face slightly too... glamorous. It just doesn't really remind me of her; I don't recall her waring that much make-up? Well, Juliet's face is a hard one. There aren't many useful female faces in light flesh To Flitwick - Minifigures series 2 lifeguard is the spittin' image of juliet. Sadly, it wouldn't fit with the fleshies. Yeah, I think her face, especially the shape of her mouth, would fit Juliet good. But as you say, it's to bad she isn't light flesh. Love your LEGO Lost. Everyone looks spot on. Also Plissken, I think he used this head for Locke. Clicky Yup, that's correct. However Locke doesn't have much of a beard so I decided to shave him Quote
BosniaFTW Posted November 14, 2010 Posted November 14, 2010 Very nice creations! For a second there I thought Hugo was a pregnant girl with a beard in the first creation. Quote
jacob_uno Posted November 14, 2010 Posted November 14, 2010 Wauw! I just want to watch Lost again! So cool and so spot on! Quote
Ghosty Posted November 14, 2010 Posted November 14, 2010 I don't watch the show, but this is cool! Quote
Nightshroud99 Posted November 14, 2010 Posted November 14, 2010 Great Job! LOST is a Great show and to make it into LEGO is a neat idea! I love how you made those figures, sawyer is my favorite as well as Kate; they were good! But may I aek what head is used on Locke? I haven't seen that one before. Is it from Harry Potter? Quote
Skrytsson Posted November 15, 2010 Author Posted November 15, 2010 (edited) Thank you, guys But may I aek what head is used on Locke? I haven't seen that one before. Is it from Harry Potter? No, it is actually this one. But I removed the beard. It is pretty difficult to find an old man-head without beard in lego... Edited November 15, 2010 by Skrytsson Quote
