Cara Posted January 25, 2011 Posted January 25, 2011 (edited) This is my version of Fred & George's Weasley's Wizard Wheezes shop on Diagon Alley. It is a mixture of film and book description. I have made it the same height as the buildings in the new Diagon Alley set. Links in this thread lead to detailed images in my flickr album. I hope you enjoy it! The Outside: With a big purple poster poking fun of the Ministry of Magic's other purple posters in Diagon Alley. Separate roast chestnut cart, chestnuts roasted by the fiery breath of a small dragon. I used a Belville torso for the top-hatted mannequin, its leg sockets attach to a 1x2 horizontal clip. The Inside (open! I like to play): Puking pastel display with Skiving Snack Boxes and U-No-Poo on the shelves above a chest of drawers. The curtains lead to the back room. To the Left: Little boy with his balloon ready to buy a punching telescope at the cash register. Reuseable hangman game on the counter. Upstairs: Weasleys' Wildfire Whiz-bangs. Containers of trick wands. One poor guy had his turn into a pair of briefs. Of course the Slytherin boy thinks this is great. Peruvian Instant Darkness Powder in the back corner cabinet. To the Right: Curtains to the back room containing more subdued products. Shield hats, cloaks and tray of gloves. On the stairs, Fred & George tell Ron that for him that costs 10 galleons! Above a child on the balcony above uses an extendable ear to listen in. Containers of quills, more ears, and plastic animals including the chicken display. A boy walks up the wall in anti-gravity sneakers. In the Center: The violently pink products of the Wonderwitch line with Hermione handling a love potion. (Dark red light brick). The display rotates. I had so much fun making this! Comments and suggestions welcome. I am at the piece limit (thank goodness for LDD). I have included all the detail shots on my flickr album. - Cara. XimenaPaulina Posted January 25, 2011 Posted January 25, 2011 Lovely entry Cara! The exterior design looks really good, with the vibrant color combination, clean-looking finish, and that nice curved window detail with the Belville figure in the front. Great to see too the colorful and very busy interior. Awesome job on this one and best of luck in the contest! Quote

Mr.Brick Posted January 25, 2011 Posted January 25, 2011 It's amazing! It looks wonderful from the outside and inside alike. At it's so playable! LEGO should use such layout for a WWW set! :D Quote
Cara Posted January 29, 2011 Author Posted January 29, 2011 Thank you for your comments! I have updated the main post with new images. And created a flickr album with those and all the detailed images in it. If you have any more suggestions I have a few days to act upon them! - Cara. Quote
maydayartist Posted January 29, 2011 Posted January 29, 2011 (edited) Wow cara that is absolute wonderful. All the details and the funny pink corner. On the last picture you can feel all the magic from this scene, with the light and the colours. Brilliant Edited January 29, 2011 by maydayartist Quote
Matn Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 Amazing job, Cara! I really like it because it looks very magical. It's also compact, which is what I like about LEGO creations. I bet it fits perfectly with the new Diagon Alley set. The exterior looks nice with the flags hanging around. That window looks marvellous, a very nice curve. Nice use of that Belville figure! I also like the purple piece to represent their posters. The inside is so charming with all the various Weasley items, all of them, the toys and games, are presented very nice and are recognizable. The colours are lovely and so is the effect of the light brick above the pink compartment. I just love the details of the interior. Awesome job and I'd love to see more of this! Good luck. Quote
