Solscud007 Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 Not sure where to put this so mods, if you feel the need, please relocate this where it should go. Box shot Here are some of the interesting pieces. Most of them do not exist in Lego, like the solid piece trigger. The 1x6 "block" if you can call it that, is slotted. There are matched sets. One with male pegs and the other with female ends. They are what allows the slide of the gun to "slide". Here are some brief snapshots of the build Here is where the magic happens. The lego jousting rod compresses the spring. the oddly shaped rod with flat flanges slides back and locks to the trigger. By pulling the trigger down, the catch is disengaged and the rod flies forward to push out technic rods. For $20 it is a little steep when online stores in china are selling this for $12.95. But considering I didnt picked this up, it evens out if I ordered it and shipped it. It is a neat model and much cheaper and more available than the unlicensed BrickGun.com Quote
Brickdoctor Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 It actually doesn't look that bad. The SNOT design of the grip and trigger guard looks nice and smooth. What worries me here is the stress the firing mechanism will put on this cheap plastic. How far does it fire? Quote
Tanotrooper Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 Hmm this is a very interesting and unnusual set. The gun itself is designed very nicely aswell. TT Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 Interesting clone brand set indeed. The SNOT finish does look good, IMO this is a rather good model, but definitely too violent and harmful for kids play. Quote
IAmWillGibson Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 (edited) Feels sort of... I dunno, morbid to ask, but how powerful is it? Like, does it hurt? Not that I'm a gun dude, but I think I might wanna try to recreate this in LDD, at least outwardly. I think there's only one thing I can see that wont work. I think. NO, wait, there's more in there now that I looked again. Eh, either way. Edited January 28, 2011 by IAmWillGibson Quote
Stardusty Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 It looks cool but since it's based on gun I am sure that LEGO will never make something like that (thanks God). I mean violence, phhhh! And there even isn't picture based on 'Don't shot in round yellow heads'. Quote
Solscud007 Posted January 28, 2011 Author Posted January 28, 2011 It shoots a few feet. Nothing dangerous unless you point into the eye. But the same could be said about a spoon. The springs are not that strong. I dont see long term damage from the springs. Quote
kyphur Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 That's an Enlighten set that I would actually be interested in buying even if only to convert to real LEGO elements! Where did you get it, might you post scans of the instruction sheet? Quote
Peppermint_M Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 Sorry guys, Enlighten is a bootleg brand, not a clone. Their two not-a-lego-ripoff sets seem to be taken from AFOL MOCs. The piano is certainly from a MOCer I have seen on TBB and the gun looks a lot like the one that featured in a news article about a bloke who had a SWAT team called on him for building it in his office... Plastic in the bricks goes through mechanical failure too easily for safe use a lot of the time too. Until they have a website and are no longer making knock-offs I will see them as a bootleg an not a clone. *goes off to start a change in jargon* Quote

I guess it's good that it won't blow up in your hand if you leave it cocked. the gun looks a lot like the one that featured in a news article about a bloke who had a SWAT team called on him for building it in his office... Yeah, a Brick Gun. Except theirs looks a lot better. Nevertheless, this is still one of the better clones/bootlegs/LEGO imitations that I've seen. Quote
prateek Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 Cool. How is the quality. Even though it's a decent model, I'm not prepared to spend $15 on this. Quote

But it is NOT the same as the canadian guy. The Canadian guy bought a Brickgun. Probably the Lego glock. Quote
