Brick Miner Posted June 8, 2006 Posted June 8, 2006 check this out !!! its an interesting ebay find... but i would imagine it wont go for nearly 300 USD (the buy-it-now price) !!! ebay link (with lots of photos and extensive description): http://cgi.ebay.com/Lego-WESTERN-6762-6769...1QQcmdZViewItem Quote
snefroe Posted June 8, 2006 Posted June 8, 2006 the idea looks a bit weird to me, like a blue "yellow castle" kinda thing... Quote
Norro Posted June 8, 2006 Posted June 8, 2006 I would imagine by piece this is worth far more than the conventional pattern... God Bless, Nathan Quote
xwingyoda Posted June 8, 2006 Posted June 8, 2006 There we have our Hoth playset X-D White and Light Bluish Grey do make a great combination BUT not for a WW set :-| Imagine what are the odds of finding a white fort in the middle of nowhere in the desert ?? None of course !! The new bown (aka Reddish Brown) would be perfect to fit in the desert !! Its a lot more red than Classic Brown (RIP), like Arizona soil is *y* I think its not very interesting as a MOC (especially due to the horrible mix of Light Grey & Light bluish Grey) *yoda* Quote
Jacob C. Posted June 8, 2006 Posted June 8, 2006 Fort Legoredo with winter paint scheme? It does look weird. I wouldn't buy it. Quote
john cleese Posted June 8, 2006 Posted June 8, 2006 aside from it having a silly appearance, think about how bad the quality of the peices could be! Assuming these are his used peices that he had to scrounge them up just to make this "snow fort" one can assume that a few are discoulered or chewed even, perhaps he might even have a few megablocks thrown in there, who knows? Infact you can already see that he's used old greys and new greys in the same moc, which for me is enough to decide not to buy this. It really annoys me that he would try to sell this. Hey does anybody else think fort legoredo looks smaller in white? Quote
Brick Miner Posted June 9, 2006 Author Posted June 9, 2006 It really annoys me that he would try to sell this.i get the same feeling. plus, he/she thinks so highly of it, a daring 300 USD price tag appears on it !!! that is the most ridiculous part to me !!!i do note one respectable quality... the main image (one i have supplied in this thread) is almost exactly the same image from the standard FL (fort legoredo) box art... even the angle and perspective of the image is remarkably close.... obviously the minifigs and accessories are fashioned similar. anyone who has digital camera/lego experience knows this would be semi-difficult. needless to say, im impressed by that quality. - BrickMiner Quote
Sir Dillon Posted June 9, 2006 Posted June 9, 2006 I think the white looks kind of neat, but not as a western set... doesn't look that much western at all to me. I think I'd rather just buy the original. think about how bad the quality of the peices could be! Assuming these are his used peices that he had to scrounge them up just to make this "snow fort" one can assume that a few are discoulered or chewed even, perhaps he might even have a few megablocks thrown in there, who knows? Well, if you had read the topic description, you would have noticed that it says: "All parts are Genuine LEGO Brand pieces!!!" ;-) Quote
WesternOutlaw Posted June 9, 2006 Posted June 9, 2006 I don't think this set looks good in white at all. I could see a white European castle, but not something out of the 1800s. It looks bleached to me. Quote
Brick Miner Posted June 10, 2006 Author Posted June 10, 2006 im currently watching the item in my ebay tracker... i'll report a final sale price. im guessing less than what a regular version would go for... in fact, the only thing i can see being worth value here is the minifigs !!! at least for a western fan, who is will be finding this auction, through the ebay search engine. im guessing 30 to 45 USD. far from the asking price !!! but we'll see... - BrickMiner Quote
Jipay Posted June 10, 2006 Posted June 10, 2006 well that would make 330 USD with the shipping *g* I don't think it actually looks that bad. And I am pretty sure we could find examples of forts that were painted. My only problem is that I find the orginal did look a lot nicer. I also have to agree on the ridiculous 300$ buy it now price and also I don't think such a long item description is necessary and/or interesting. Quote
Darth Doggfather Posted August 16, 2006 Posted August 16, 2006 You silly people, this wasn't designed for the Wild West, this was designed to be the US Army's secret base at the North Pole. Or maybe its the stupidest thing I've ever seen done with a Wild West set. :-P Quote
Djole Posted August 16, 2006 Posted August 16, 2006 Well you said BrickMiner,INTERESTING,nothing else... I think this positive-negative thing is weird too... But I would love to take a look of this in live... Just imagine Indigo (Enchanted) Island with all the plants red... FREAKY Greetings from Serbia Quote

WesternOutlaw Posted February 2, 2008 Posted February 2, 2008 It's apparently $1,000 U.S. now. :-D Seriously, no joke. Check it out. I was just getting ready to respond, this thread's over a year and a half old, why would anyone want to resurrect it. Then I read your response. Can't believe it, $1,000. The original is better than the set in white. Quote
snefroe Posted February 2, 2008 Posted February 2, 2008 on bricklink... sure, you can set whatever price you want there... doesn't mean you'll sell it... Quote
Cardinal Brick Posted February 2, 2008 Posted February 2, 2008 It'll be intresting to see if it sells. Quote
