Hello everyone! I'm back with my second version of the Infantry Support Platform! It features a SNOT base, and twin AI blasters at the front. Thanks to everyone who commented on my previous rendition! Enjoy!

Here it is:

And this is a failed picture, but I thought it looked sorta cool.

Thanks for looking, C&C welcome!

MUCH better! The rear curve looks a lot better, and the shield things don't look oversized anymore.

I'll leave the criticism to the professionals, as I don't have anything to improve, but if I had to, I'd say to use SNOT slopes for the front instead of angled plates.

Massive improvement, brickartist! Proportions look much better now. The only thing is that when you add a minifig...I think it's now too big.

I was very, very, afraid of that(Slaps Head)! I think it's a quick fix. Those rear proportions are killing me :cry_sad: But, thanks Brickdoctor!

Thanks Prateek, the plates were to capture a certain angle at the front, but I may experiment with SNOT at the front as well.

Wow, I'm thoroughly impressed with this improved version of your ISP brickartist! This one is definitely much much better than the original version. I simply love the SNOT build, the wider rear half circle, and the more accurate front blasters, seats, and rear engines. I'm already satisfied with this one, so no more suggestions from me. Though I agree that with this improved and more accurate version you might've exceeded a bit on the minifig-scale, but no worries, it's a great overall model the way I see it. Excellent work!

Thanks, kielDaMan  I'm using this in my apllication to CABG, so wish me luck! :sweet:

This looks very good. The SNOT looks really nice. It seems a little long but that might just be the angle of the photo. On the real one it is wider than it's long and, the tubo fan is alot wider and shorter.

Great job

EDIT- P.S. Good luck getting into CABG!

You're right, I do need to make the front shorter. I think I'll be placing a BL order, as I don't have a ton of parts for the fan. Thanks though! :classic:

This looks really cool! As others have said, it's a bit long (maybe 4 studs?). Also you should add a fan piece to the turbine part (like the set). Lovin the studless look, though:)

Yeah, I'm thinking 3 right now, just to keep a small gap between the armor and the front section. I suppose I'll just buy that set. Thanks Moodswim!

Now this is how a Swamp Speeder is supposed to look!

Like M<0><0<DSWIM said, it's a little too long; I'd say by about 2 studs.

Good luck getting into CABG!

This looks so good now! I have a new level of respect for you to keep working on this moc until it looked perfect! This is really well done and I would consider it an A+ moc!

As others have already said, V2 is a substantial improvement over the original. The half-circle and guns in particular stand out to me - the click hinges do a much better job of capturing the shape of the ring than the bent flick-fire missiles did, and the guns are now more detailed and certainly more accurate (though maybe too big).

I wouldn't worry too much about staying within minifigure scale - when the figure is visible from the outside, dimensions can get really arbitrary because minifigures themselves have odd proportions. As long as you have some sort of decently proportioned driver (e. g. Hasbro action figure) that can fit in the seat and look good (i. e. be in scale to the rest of the craft) it's fine by me.

Something no one's mentioned yet - I think that the tiled block running down the center of your model should be reworked. There is a sloped area there on the "real" ISP which is not present, and it gives your model too much of a blocky feel.

You may also want to set the gun platform back a bit - the bar that should be attached to the front of the platform is actually attached somewhere in the middle on your model, which also makes it look longer. All that free space in front looks rather awkward.

In addition, I too would recommend rebuilding the platform in SNOT to capture the curves better.

Notice that the guns aren't actually mounted on the platform itself, but are attached to thin rods which stem from the base of the bar with the red stripe. I would recommend bars attached to these.

I'm not sure I would go with that piece for the turbine - it's just too elongated. Something similar to what you did on your previous rendition would be preferable.

While the shields no longer look oversized, I can't help but think that they now look a bit small.

Looks fantastic! Love the detail everywhere :classic:

Thanks!

Thanks, yup V3 will be up in a little!

THanks, sok!

That is one pretty... um... whatever it is, lol. Looks kinda boring with so much solid gray in front, but it has a great shape

Blame lucas, not me!

Some of this is addressed in V3 which is done. I'll get more nitty-gritty in 4.

If I were you I'd just skip to v.4 if you know v.3 is inaccurate.

Yeah, I'm awaiting parts, brainstorming techniques, and making early sketches of a possible new structure. so I think I'll just put that one up.
