I got home tonight to see this..

S8304163.jpg

I can not explain how stupidly excited I was!

So I photographed the experience,

First job, open the envelope

Remove contents

As you can see my daughter wanted in on the action!

At this stage I checeked for dots/codes and tried to feel the package. I have circled the dots in this pic,

I could feel that there were no accessories (a little disapointing) so that limited my options, and I made my calculated guess.

Werewolf! My calculated guess was correct

Really pleased with how he looks. The print on his head and torso are really good. He fitted together nicely and all his parts move smoothly. There are no 'spare' parts, I thought maybe a second bone, so it looks like this series will be similar to series 3 in that respect.

I am not experienced enough to comment on the quality of plastic etc really but he seems fine to me and has claimed a shelf to himself ready for his friends to arrive next month.

... ready for his friends to arrive next month.

Cool, thanks for taking the time to take some photos for us. He looks like a high-quality fig! I like the bone too.

And I don't think it will really be next month. I have a feeling s4 will be on shelves in a matter of days, at least here in the US. Maybe I'm spoiled because I live on the west coast and that seems to be where they pop up first, in the world.

Nice photography of the event, you've captured the anticipation and excitement brilliantly

Is it really next month when they come out? It's gone over so fast, time flies when you're playing lego

Nice to know we have a chance of guessing the figs with the dots, although i was pretty useless at that

How bumpy are the dots? in series 3 I found it hard to distinguish the proper dots between dimples in the packaging.

Congrats btw

I thought that these dots were quite clear, although I found with series 3 that some were clear and others weren't so this is no guarantee.

Great to see the first series 4 review, can't wait for the others.

The werewolf doesn't have any back printing, does he? Anyway, Nice fig, a shame it has no spare parts.

I prefer the dots for the barcode, as you can easily commit the dot code to your memory, but you have to print the barcodes and take them with you. I could read them rather good, at series 3 I bought 12 figs so far, 7 of them succesfully using the barcode, two times failing (mistook both the fisher and the chief for the samurai) and 3 times just picking randomly. But I think the readability of the dots depends highly on the lightning.

By the number four raffle, I suppose. :hmpf::tongue:

Yeah, I'm an idiot-- says it right up there in the title thread. I was doing so well with my Legomaniacal tendencies this year, too-- but I'm worried I'll have a serious relapse when Series 4 officially breaks...

Not that bad, I love to ":hmpf:" people.. And I think the same about series 5, when the gladiator comes out. I missed the Spartan (:cry_sad:), and I really don't want to miss this one. I think I'll visit my store almost every day to look if the new figs arrived.

Well someone got lucky eh ?

Thanks for the photographic review 'Dazmundo'.....nice werewolf...he looks a little hungry ?

I guess now we can expect to start seeing reviews of series 4....can't wait !

Brick On !

Hm, the werewolf does look somewhat better in these more detailed pics than in the pics we've seen before, even if I still think it's probably the biggest letdown of Series 4 for me.

I prefer the dots for the barcode, as you can easily commit the dot code to your memory, but you have to print the barcodes and take them with you.

To me it was the other way round - it was pretty easy to memorize the barcodes, I could still recognize the Spartan barcode with a single glance, but I've never really got the hang of the dots: When hunting for Elves I had to constantly look back to the first bag I had identified (by feeling) to verify how the dots should be, exactly. It's interesting how differently different brains function. :classic:

Thank you for the effort of "guiding" us through your experience!

The werewolf is fantastic and easily makes my list of most wanted S4 figures. Even more so after having seen your pics of him.

Seems as if I'd need to hunt down more elves and later werewolves to give the first a little more variation by recolouring the latter's hairpiece... well, more like its ears, but you get the idea ;-) .

After this brilliant entree of S4 into fans' homes I wish everyone here a very successful hunt for his/her favourites!

Be well all!

Hehe, I can easily imagine the excitement when you realised what the envelope was for

Would you happen to remember when it was sent, and where it was sent from? Still waiting for mine, but suspect it may take a little longer for it to arrive in Australia. I'm getting very excited, though.

And thanks for the review, I will have to do something similar.

Very nice! Thanks for sharing the experience with us! The fig looks very cool, and one of my favorites as well so in my opinion you were lucky to have gotten him.

Interesting though, I never realized that he uses the elf hair in a diff color...
