Ecclesiastes Posted May 9, 2011 Posted May 9, 2011 Spanish discovery Deep in the dangerous jungles of South-America, some conquistadors find a tomb while seeking treasures. They are surprised, who could have build this? They wanna know what's inside it! What they don't know, is that 1000 years ago a alien crashed here and died. Because he died, other aliens build a tomb for him. Since they left (but did they all left?!), the indians are using the tomb as a place to sacrifice. So they will defend this place with there lives. Watch out conquistadors! Folder Short movie Quote
Sirens-of-Titan Posted May 9, 2011 Posted May 9, 2011 (edited) Wow mcdenbesten that is a great creation! The things that impress me most are your tree which looks very "jugle'esque" indeed and adds a lot to the scene, and the conquistador minifigs; you have literally chosen the perfect combination of parts to make these guys! If there was ever a collectible minifigure conquistador that is what he would look like, plus a pearl gray helm. I like the space alien story; from what I know about Southern and Central American Legends this is one of the prevalent stories behind how the ancient cities were built!(In certain circles ) Overall a great idea, and an equally great execution! EDIT: Just saw your video and I love all the active features! The door opening with the lever is very impressive!! Edited May 9, 2011 by Sirens-Of-Titan Quote
mikey Posted May 9, 2011 Posted May 9, 2011 This is a great MOC, and I think that tree with four columns of twisted palm tree trunks just looks superb Quote
Gabe Posted May 9, 2011 Posted May 9, 2011 (edited) Oh dear, that's not a good time for a monkey to steal yr helmet! Great MOC, lots of lively little touches like this really help to set the scene. And yr greenery and landscaping is fantastic! Edited May 9, 2011 by gabe Quote
EverettYA Posted May 9, 2011 Posted May 9, 2011 Great job! I love all of the little details like the foliage and the natives ready to ambush the Spanish. It is also a great concept. Keep Bricking. Quote
Roodaksta Posted May 9, 2011 Posted May 9, 2011 Nice MOC mcdenbesten! I like the details you put on the floor to give it a more jungle look. And may I ask how did you make the trunk go in that spiral motion? Overall this is a superb model. Reminds me of those classical Peruvian jungle stories . Anyways great MOC! Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 Wonderful creation mcdenbesten! I really love the lush and verdant greeneries and vegetation of the surroundings as well as that uniquely-built tree with the twisted truck combo. Truly a visually-appealing MOC, excellent job! Quote
Pallantides Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 I'm really digging that tree. I agree with everyone that it has a "jungle feel" to it. Nicely done mcdenbesten. Keep up the good work. Quote
Rook Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 Cuidado con los conquistadores! (Watch out for the Conquistadors!) Quote
KotZ Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 That's really good looking. All of the foliage is a really nice touch. One question: How did you make it so the door opens when you pull on the lever? I notice it opens up. Do you have Technic bricks hidden down there, or a rubber band or something of the like? Quote
iamded Posted May 11, 2011 Posted May 11, 2011 That's awesome! Great plant-life, and that tree is amazing! Awesome little story to add depth to the creation as well. Well done! Quote
Fuzzylegobricks Posted May 12, 2011 Posted May 12, 2011 Very cool mcdenbesten! The color assortment, with the reds of parrots and the grass and trees are very awesome. The explorers are a bit over their experience might I say! Now that I think of it, this reminds me of a National Geographic episode. Quote

Lobberuno Posted May 19, 2011 Posted May 19, 2011 Have you get inspired by Appocalipto or by a history Book? The ambience is very realistic, very cool :) nice work!! Quote
Ecclesiastes Posted July 4, 2011 Author Posted July 4, 2011 Have you get inspired by Appocalipto or by a history Book? The ambience is very realistic, very cool :) nice work!! Actually I got inspired by the stories about how the azteks and inca's became that "civilized". A lot of people believed because of alien interference! And I wanted to do something with conquistadors because I had them, but I did not have enough time to make something for the forbidden-cove contest: so that's how the idea came to life Quote
