tafkatb Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 (edited) I made this over a year ago, inspired by the Architecture sets and the way they capture the essence of a building in the smallest possible scale. I tried to do the same for what I think is one of the most interesting buildings in Cincinnati, the Contemporary Arts Center. For reference, here's a picture of the real thing (image courtesy of npr.org): ...and here's my tiny little MOC: At such a small scale, I had to make it much more rectilinear than the real thing, and I wasn't able to incorporate the "urban carpet" (the sidewalk curving up into the north wall), but I think it went pretty well considering I had been out of practice with MOCing for about a decade at that point. And I can always try it at a larger scale when I've accumulated enough bricks. Edited June 9, 2011 by Rufus Indexed Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 I love the simplistic accuracy of this miniaturized model of the Contemporary Arts Center. Very nice job on getting the tricky surfaces right. Quote
Vindicare Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 For that scale and small amount of pieces, you captured the look of the building perfect. Nice job. Quote
Dan the Brickman Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 Wow, that is one weird building! Thanks for sharing. Quote
