LegoCityMann Posted June 19, 2011 Posted June 19, 2011 (edited) Welcome to the town of Stoneford! So instead of creating Topic after Topic about each of the buildings I make, I am going to start a running thread with my town adding buildings as I go. I got really interested in this style of building after building my Grand Emporium. So today I will start with my newest building and later add in some of my other buildings that I've done since then. Welcome to Lightning Hardware Store in town of Stoneford. The hardware store named in Honor of LightningTiger who gave me a few ideas for the interior. The front of the store The Rear of the store. The Interior: Credit to lightningtiger for a few ideas and for the rack. The Roof: Edited June 21, 2011 by LegoCityMann Quote
lightningtiger Posted June 19, 2011 Posted June 19, 2011 Now who is a bright spark ? I have never have anything named after me.....being called a few things in my time though ! The tool rack - very nice , the cabinets below the saws - very nice and the digging tools rack - gee, I've seen that before ! The lightning bolt on the roof takes the cake - your finest work yet 'LCM' and I give the LT paw-print of approval ! Brick On 'LCM' ! Quote
AussieJimbo Posted June 19, 2011 Posted June 19, 2011 Very nice, LCM. The lightning bolt is a great touch. :classic: Quote
Legostein Posted June 19, 2011 Posted June 19, 2011 Hello! What I like most here is the nice effect of inverted arch over the window next to a conventional arch over the door. I think that it would even look better if you did not fill up the arch over the door with plates but instead left it empty. Cheers, ~ Christopher Quote
LegoCityMann Posted June 20, 2011 Author Posted June 20, 2011 I give the LT paw-print of approval ! Brick On 'LCM' ! That's the best compliment I think I could get on EB. Any quesses on what the next building is, here's a hint. ~LCM Quote
Sisco Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 Mm... Coffee shop? Can't live without my daily cup of jo... Quote
lightningtiger Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 Nice drive thru-coffee kiosk, got a coffee/espresso machine design....I have made a few in the past. Keep going and Brick On 'LCM'.....oh, by the way....love that coffee cup on the rood there ! Quote
LegoCityMann Posted June 20, 2011 Author Posted June 20, 2011 Here's a few interior shots of the Drive-Thru Coffee shop The Cappuccino/Espresso Maker, Cup rack, a dish washer, and coffee pot. The counter where people can come in and get a cup if they've walked or biked up. The view thru the Drive thru Window. working on a MOD of a city set next. Also working on some outside tables for the coffee shop. ~LCM Quote
lightningtiger Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 Looks nice 'LCM', but the counter looks a little boring, though your coffee machines are pretty good.....I like the coffee brewer on the far right. Keep going and Brick On 'LCM' ! Quote
LegoCityMann Posted June 21, 2011 Author Posted June 21, 2011 This MOC is actually a MOD of the City Bank. Although moved we still have the Skylight feature and the burglar breaking in. Complete with an enlarged bank teller counter. and customer area. This will soon be getting a loan officers desk cubical in this area as well. A security elevator to the second floor where the money is stored (Not functional) The elevator let's off at the second floor Right next to the Branch Manager's desk. Right down the hallway from the reinforced vault Quote
lightningtiger Posted June 21, 2011 Posted June 21, 2011 Not bad MOD's 'LCM', still a little bare though, but the safe is excellent ! Keep going 'LCM', every thing you create or change you learn new ways of improving your previous work. Brick On ! Quote

You will also be happy to know that my little town now has a name. Edited June 21, 2011 by LegoCityMann Quote
icy brick Posted June 21, 2011 Posted June 21, 2011 (edited) Great moc´s if you let I could really have use to that mod idea of the bank . Nice name to the town too. Hope to see more. Can we see pics of all these beautiful builds together???? Edited June 21, 2011 by icy brick Quote
LegoCityMann Posted June 22, 2011 Author Posted June 22, 2011 icy brick, Feel free to use/copy whatever you like. I will try and get a picture of the whole layout later tonight. So I've made a few improvements to the coffee shop and bank. To the Coffee Shop we've added some color to the top of the building, also a patio table with umbrella where one of our friendly bike cops have stopped for a cup. The City Bank Most banks here in the US have an architectural feature that is used in their feature feel. I've Purple Half Arch above the bank sign giving it a "wave feel" with the white "foam" underneath. We've repeated this in the teller windows, (which I've added another). Here I've added a small desk for people to ready their deposits or write their checks so they can be ready when they go to the teller. There is also a small movable railing to keep customers out of the banks "business" area. Upstairs we've added a swivel chair for the security desk (Still need some more monitors) and a few other chairs in the hallway. Must be a delivery day. Armed Stoneford Police watch over the delivery truck while the driver is making his delivery. Enjoy Comments, Questions, and Critiques always welcome. ~LCM Quote

lightningtiger Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 Interesting 'LCM', might be a church of some sort judging by the steps at the front and that middle built-up section. Well, only you know what it is ! Brick On ! Quote
enrgie Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 I'm going with Lightning Tiger's suggestion. Church or some Middle Eastern looking shop! Invest in some roads!! Quote
LegoCityMann Posted June 23, 2011 Author Posted June 23, 2011 OK, I didn't like how it was working so I made a few changes The Front From Above From the back (It's still a WIP but I ran out of bricks. I used a bit of SNOT here. Alas, Poor Yourik, I knew him well. ~LCM Quote

LegoCityMann Posted June 23, 2011 Author Posted June 23, 2011 (edited) Sorry peole, i am new here, what means WIP and MOD??? MOD is usually used to describe a Modification to an official set, Like my city Bank WIP is Work in Progress, Something that is not yet completed. MOC is My Own Creation. There's a thread somewhere that lists commonly used Acronyms on the forums if you search a bit for it. {EDIT} Here's a Link: Eurobricks Acronym Dictionary Brick On! ~LCM Edited June 23, 2011 by LegoCityMann Quote
