Here is an LDD rendition of Mechanized Bricks Sherman M4A3 tank.

The general rule is that if you just post an image of your MOC, then it goes into the respective theme forum here at EB. However, if you attach the LXF, then it's concidered to be of more interest to LDD users in general, so it goes here. Naturally if you want, I can move it to the Special Themes. Otherwise it'd be great to have it here since we don't get many tanks as LXF-files.

BTW did you know it's actually possible to wrap the tracks around the wheels. There is a topic about it here. It's a bit tricky though, so you could also help someone here on the board for help.

Oh, and is that a white 1x2 Technic brick I spot in the front?

Actually, the tank reminds me of a story from when I was in high school. One year I took auto-shop and at the end of the our teacher, Mr Badger, thought he'd show us kids what a real engine sounds like. So he rolled out this huge thing he had hidden in the back of the shop. It was a radial engine from a Sherman tank. And then he hooked up a lot of batteries and fired it up. The sound it made :sweet: Holy beep. Still sends chills down my spine...

Nope, whatever is protocol.

About the MOC, I think you did a awesome good job with that chubby tank. BTW did you know it's actually possible to wrap the tracks around the wheels. There is a topic about it here. It's a bit tricky though, so you could also help someone here on the board for help.

Thanks for the encouraging word. I did see that tool and played with it for a while, but couldn't get it to work so indeed I will ask for some help on that because it would make it muy better. I also am having trouble, obviously, attaching the five treads at the front of the MOC to the holder plates (4085) on the the sloping face of the tank.

That's funny you pointed that out because I got some of the pieces from a BrickLink store yesterday, those technic bricks being among them, and one was gray and I was wondering why. Well there you go. If anyone is interested I can put pictures up when it's built.

Even if I can see a few pics on the Mechanized Bricks site, I'd be interested as well. LEGO tanks have always fascinated me, but I never to get around to building one.

Here is the finished product. Made a few changes to the original model by Mechanized Brick, like the canon, instead of round brick (3062) I used a outer cable 72MM (76324) and the rims are different on the actual MOC vs the LDD MOC. All in all it was fun and looks good. Final price...$115.00 to 12 BL stores.

And here for comparison is the pick from from Mechanized Bricks:

(Actually, this got me thinking - I don't think it's a good idea to share the instructions (in LXF-format) like this. I'm sure Mechanized Bricks put a lot of work into making the design and the instructions. I'm taking the liberty of removing the link to the LXF-file).

This tank looks great, I think i need to get me some of those tracks! They way you've done the turret gun looks good, does it move up and down?

The cannon does move up and down. Also , just for clarification, it's Mechanized Bricks design. It's been a good experience putting it together using BrickShelf and LDD. If I have any issue with the design it's that it is a little delicate, hence the tiles in the front. The tile shore it up because the two 3x2 plates in the middle front aren't supported by anything above the sloped part with the extra tracks. That's not such a big deal for me but the kid, of course, wants to play with it...

Also, I was thinking that since this thread doesn't have the lxf anymore perhaps it should be moved. That's up to the powers that be.
