Masked Builder Posted July 3, 2011 Posted July 3, 2011 Power supply. The lever in down position means that the safety is off, up it's on. The numbering designates the turrets position in the base. "Eat this!" So I really wanted to do an Alien Conquest MOC. I tried many different ideas but I eventually settled on this. I think that this is one of my best thought out ideas. I also wanted to try my hand at editing a weapons firing picture. It's not the best but it's a start. This will also be that start of an Alien Defense Unit base layout. Brickdoctor Posted July 3, 2011 Posted July 3, 2011 NIce job, Masked. You've got some pretty good parts usage there. And for once, I can't see a place to suggest you use SNOT. (other than the base, of course, but that's not part of the turret) Quote
Plastemaurer Posted July 3, 2011 Posted July 3, 2011 Nice turret, Masked Builder. It fits well into Alien Conquest and I like the use of the cups for controls. Well done. PM Quote
SilentMode Posted July 3, 2011 Posted July 3, 2011 Coffee power! I'm surprised this isn't part of an actual set, but you've done well. Quote
MacK Posted July 3, 2011 Posted July 3, 2011 Well done Masked Builder I'm sure this turret will be a great asset for the ADU . While I think that the turret could be beefed up a little more. I love the use of coffee mugs as controls, which is something new to me. The power supply is also well done, where did the cable come from? Quote
Brickdoctor Posted July 3, 2011 Posted July 3, 2011 where did the cable come from? Hero Factory. Quote
tafkatb Posted July 3, 2011 Posted July 3, 2011 I'd need two cups of coffee if I had to fight alien invaders too! I like the parts usage there. Quote
charlieboy Posted July 3, 2011 Posted July 3, 2011 Superb! This could so easily be part of an original set. Cant wait to see the rest of your base Quote
lightningtiger Posted July 3, 2011 Posted July 3, 2011 AWESOME turret 'Masked Builder' and would have never though of using coffee mugs as aiming/firing controls - a huge and it's a very solid build....keep on shooting those aliens ! Quote
krystalKING Posted July 3, 2011 Posted July 3, 2011 Great job! You've inspired me to use a non-Lego baseplate (unknown producer) to try and make my own ADU base! (My excuse for the non-Lego baseplate is that all my Lego baseplates are going to precinct 78, maybe a colonial marine and ADU section.) Quote
petamas Posted July 4, 2011 Posted July 4, 2011 Wow! I really like this turret, especially the controls. Can't wait to see the rest. Quote
P4trickvH Posted July 8, 2011 Posted July 8, 2011 Great MOC, i always like big guns. They should make this set available as polybag. Quote
Masked Builder Posted July 9, 2011 Author Posted July 9, 2011 Nice job, Masked. You've got some pretty good parts usage there. And for once, I can't see a place to suggest you use SNOT. (other than the base, of course, but that's not part of the turret) Well you can't always have more SNOT! Nice turret, Masked Builder. It fits well into Alien Conquest and I like the use of the cups for controls. Well done. Thanks! Coffee power! I'm surprised this isn't part of an actual set, but you've done well. Wow. Thanks! Quote
