Skrytsson Posted July 23, 2011 Posted July 23, 2011 (edited) [i forgot to write "MOC" in the catchline, and it seems like I can't edit that... Maybe a moderator can fix that?] In the future in a galaxy far, far away... ...will a Swedish astronaut team climb an unknown planet with dense, exotic vegetation. Because somewhere in the outer space life must exist. This creation was a part in a Lego Space exhibition which took place on Tekniska Museet in Stockholm, Sweden in the beginning of June this year. Facts about the creation: - Appr. 1400 parts - Building time: a couple of weeks (first in LDD) - Size: 38,4 x 38,4 x 28,8 cm I hope you like it! Fugazi Posted July 23, 2011 Posted July 23, 2011 This is a beautiful MOC Skrytsson! I really like the colour palette used for the planet surface, and the landscaping. Your sky is very nicely built too! I'm not so sure about the crashed capsule as it's more cartoony than the detailed planet surface, but on the whole it's a very inspiring scene! Quote
Horry Posted July 23, 2011 Posted July 23, 2011 This is a great scene! I love the sky, reminds me of those classic computer games like commander keen And I find the functional simplicity of the rocket great! It adds to the scene without distracting from the landscape. Maybe a volvo-space-rover would have been a nice add Quote
Big Cam Posted July 23, 2011 Posted July 23, 2011 Great job, I love the massive number of plants you have, I'm not sure if there is a style name for it, but when it almost looks messy ands random, I really like that style. Quote
tchuk-norst Posted July 23, 2011 Posted July 23, 2011 Very well done! I love the colors, it works well against the black. A beautiful scene! Quote
Ceroknight Posted July 23, 2011 Posted July 23, 2011 Fantastic scene! I love the placement of the aliens and Earth in the background! Quote
Hoboman Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 Very nice. I love the Lego built backdrop. Also the whole subject makes for a fun MOC. Well Done. Quote
lefty Posted July 25, 2011 Posted July 25, 2011 Wow, this is beautiful. The sand red works so well with the other colors, and it works great as an environment color in general. Everything about this is just great! And I like the life on mars aliens, I always loved that line whether is deserved it or not :p Quote
snefroe Posted July 25, 2011 Posted July 25, 2011 this is very beautiful indeed! very creative, colorful and original! great work! Quote
LandShark Posted July 25, 2011 Posted July 25, 2011 Great MOC! The Swedish flag, and the Earth in the background are great details, and the colour you used for the planet surface just happen to be one of my favorite brick colours. Quote
Hrw-Amen Posted July 25, 2011 Posted July 25, 2011 Really nice. Do all those astronauts fit into the capsule? I like the vegitation and the little aliens coming out of their rock pods, cute. Quote
Masked Builder Posted July 25, 2011 Posted July 25, 2011 Very cool! I didn't notice all of the aliens till I saw their pictures. Quote
Rook Posted July 25, 2011 Posted July 25, 2011 Frakking creepy world! Well done! Love the alien being almost “hatched” in the background. Quote
Legostein Posted July 26, 2011 Posted July 26, 2011 Hello! The sand red really contributes to making this an amazing diorama. But for me personally the best thing is using bricks with axle holes to create stars in the sky! That's brilliant! Cheers, ~ Christopher Quote
robotimms Posted August 3, 2011 Posted August 3, 2011 Beautiful diarama. That landscape is amazing, excellent placement of plant life. Backdrop is awesome, love the way you made the stars, great use of elements. Quote
Vindicare Posted August 4, 2011 Posted August 4, 2011 Very cool! I didn't notice all of the aliens till I saw their pictures. Same here. That rocket mustve been cramped to fit all 3 astronauts in there. As many have said, the landscape is brilliant, as is the rest of the MOC. The red works great as an alien planet along with the dull colored vines. Quote
Delta62 Posted August 4, 2011 Posted August 4, 2011 Very creative! I really like the landscape. Quote
