A-17 Posted August 10, 2011 Posted August 10, 2011 hi just wanted to know does any one here weather trains like i do in HO scale Model. Since i am new to the Lego trains and don't actually have one yet i can't show you an example but could of my models but that would be violating the rule to only discuss Lego. Quote
peterab Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 hi just wanted to know does any one here weather trains like i do in HO scale Model. Not quite what you mean I suspect, but there is a thread on the Flickr LEGO train Mocs group which has many examples of purist weathering. Quote

WesternOutlaw Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 Feel free to discuss the topic here as well. There's been a number of our Train Tech members who have created some nice weathered trains. Quote

WesternOutlaw Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 I think most understand what weathering is. Quote
JopieK Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 here is at least how the model guys and gals do it: http://cs.trains.com/TRCCS/forums/t/158692.aspx Quote
drdavewatford Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 Given the profound effects of prolonged (or even not so prolonged...) U.V. exposure on LEGO bricks, one solution might be to take a random selection of bricks that'll make up the outer surfaces of the loco or rolling stock and just leave them outside in the sun for a few weeks.... It should fade them enough to get a less uniform, weathered appearance. This of course won't work so well if like me you live in the UK where we don't get much sun..... ;-) Dr. D. Quote
