gylman Posted August 22, 2006 Posted August 22, 2006 Creative marketing by the Lego people. http://shop.lego.com/product.asp?p=EL715&cn=158&d=21&t=7 Not sure if a brick is the best way to make handle. 8-| Seems kinda painful. This is a new product. Cute, but probably not practical for serious Legoholics: http://cgi.ebay.com/Lego-Toolbox-A-Must-Ha...bayphotohosting
Section8 Posted August 22, 2006 Posted August 22, 2006 the toolbox is not an official Lego item. Most branded items on eBay that aren't anywhere else are knockoffs. I see some light-up Lego signs on eBay that are suspect, because the same seller has many different signs from with different corporate logos, but the same exact construction and size. Likely the seller bought himself a CNC mill and a lot of plexiglass. This toolbox is not on S@H, so it is likely counterfeit.
gylman Posted August 22, 2006 Author Posted August 22, 2006 I disagree regarding the toolbox. This is a good seller, and routinely has Lego stuff before almost anyone else does (he had all the new keychains before almost anyone on eBay). Time will tell. EDIT: thanks Natelite
natelite Posted August 22, 2006 Posted August 22, 2006 i saw the toolbox in a lego shop, so they are official merchandize. i wouldn't recommend people buying it because it is made from cardboard. very easy to be destroyed especially if you have young ones. i can't remember how much it was retailing for...i should have taken pictures for the skeptics.

Section8 Posted August 22, 2006 Posted August 22, 2006 Don't tell me we have somethink the yanks don't get? Yep, not available in the U.S. and not even listed on our S@H site. But if it is indeed made of cardboard, I don't think us yanks will be missing much. You also get the new City Tower Crane when we don't, and that is missed very much over here. And you have, in the past, gotten some amazing promotional sets (like the airline sets and Shell sets), whereas in the U.S., we got very little, if anything. But we're not bitter about it (ok, maybe a little bitter).
natelite Posted August 22, 2006 Posted August 22, 2006 Yep, not available in the U.S. and not even listed on our S@H site. you can get it from the lego stores just not from S@H. did you ever visit a lego store before? you are quite clueless about what you can get or cannot get.
Ickelpete Posted August 22, 2006 Posted August 22, 2006 I saw one of these in a UK lego store earlier in the year and i agree with previous comments they appear quite flimsy I dont think they will stand up to much use without falling apart. They would also not hold a very large amout
