Geertos13 Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 (edited) Hey fellow Eurobricks members! If you've been following the recent activity on MOCpages, or you've seen my "You need to decide where your loyalties lie" creation, you'll know that there's a Harry Potter competition going on at the moment and that we are supposed to enter a creation for every year of the Harry Potter franchise, inspired by a scene that can be either from the book or the movie (Or both in some cases). This time, for the second round, I decided to go original and take a scene from the book. Funnely, this has never been made into a MOC, or at least I haven't found one. Without further ado, here's my second entry for the Harry Potter constest : Filch's Office! "Name.. Harry Potter... Crime... - It was only a bit of mud! - It's only a bit of mud for you boy, but to me it's an extra hour scrubbing!" The scene takes place in Filch's Office (Duh! ) when Harry, after a Quidditch training gets catched by Filch when he tries to go back to his commonroom while drippin mud all over the place. Filch then takes him to his Office to find an appropriate punishment. But Peeves saves the day by throwing an extremly expensive vanishing cabinet (yeah the one from Half Blood Prince!) on the floor, just above Filch's office! The caretaker is distracted and grabs his chance to finally have Peeves expelled. In the mean time, he leaves Harry alone is the old, dirty Office. [ A close-up of Filch's ugly face. Ready to write his punishment form, he hurries to clean up his desk and close the small drawer behind his back, containing some very personal information. Although I consider this entry to be less good than the first one, I still entered this just for fun! The office is losely based on the book's description and several notable pieces of furniture can be found in this creation. Like in the book, the office contains the usual desk, the wooden filings cabinets and the highly polished chains that Filch has been keeping on his office for ages, praying the day that he'd get permission to use them once again to hang students from the ceiling. This very personnal information happens to be a KwikSpell letter. An easy way of learning magic for Squibs and untalented wizards. During Filch's absence, Harry once again, can't contain his curiosity and opens the letter, discovering the Kwikspell form and Filch's deepest darkest secret. Harry then hurries to put the envelopp back at it's original place when Filch comes back, unfortunatly he's too late and the obvious position difference leads Filch to think Harry read his mail, discovering his secret. This causes Filch to quickly send Harry away! Another close-up of the room and the large drawers containing details of every pupil Filch had ever punished. The book states that Fred and George Weasley have an entire drawer to themselves. Notice the muddy footsteps harry leaves behind on the floor and Filch's quill and form. Another shot of one of the cool features about this vignette is the inclusion of a Power Function Light Brick. The Oil lamp, who hangs from the ceiling in the book, has been moved to a little stoned ledge. I made sure to include the Power Function to give the scene some extra creepiness. As the Office is situated on the ground floor, has only two small windows and as the weather is extremly rainy, we can assume the room is dark and chilly. And last but not least, the usual, In scene depiction of Filch pulling Harry into his office, swearing and cursing. I hope you enjoyed this litte vignette and please tell me what you think about it in the comment section below Edited September 19, 2011 by Geertos13 Quote
greeny Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 Wow! For such a small face you crammed in so much detail, I personaly love the potions and the chains on the wall. Great job! I egarly await the third one Quote
operrier Posted September 20, 2011 Posted September 20, 2011 Very nice, I like all the details like the mud and the letter. By the way I can't wait for your part 9 of HPHBP to come out! It must be hard to do Quidditch in LEGOs. Quote
lightningtiger Posted September 20, 2011 Posted September 20, 2011 Excellent work 'Geertos13', the detail is fantastic.....but I don't why he is worried mud.....he's gotta shovel there ! Keep on casting spells ! Quote

Adrian86 Posted September 22, 2011 Posted September 22, 2011 Great job! I'm totally fond of the tons of details you put into that scene. But my favourite feature is the light-up feature :-) Quote
Hartfan Posted September 23, 2011 Posted September 23, 2011 Lovely MOC. Love the details. Great work ! Quote
Legostein Posted September 24, 2011 Posted September 24, 2011 Hello! A great little scene from the Harry Potter world. The room generates the right mood for Filch, and the wall decoration is very suitable. Cheers, ~ Christopher Quote
