Legostein Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 (edited) Hello everybody! Besides mini modeling, I also enjoy building custom minifigures. I consider myself a "non-traditional purist customizer", using only official parts but not limited to traditional minifigure pieces. This sometimes results in bulky/blocky minifugures. So, now it's my pleasure to introduce Roo-Dee! There are infinite alien species in the galaxy, but there are places where many of them gather to have a drink together - Space Bars (that's what inspired me). In such a space bar Roo-Dee works as a bartender. As a member of the species Hextremitus Crista Cearulis (meaning that he has six extremities and a blue crest) Roo-Dee has two pairs of arms and two relatively short legs. He may not be the fastest running person, but he is extremly agile and speedy with his four arms. That makes him a great bartender! >>> Click here to see all images <<< If you want to build your own Roo-Dee minifigure, you can find all pieces needed on BrickLink. The average costs are about 3-5 EUR depending if you buy used or new pieces. Have a great sunday everyone! Cheers, ~ Christopher Edited October 23, 2011 by Legostein Quote

Sam Vimes Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 He Reminds me of a Muppet Style Character....Great Work. Quote
Tomcat RIO Posted October 16, 2011 Posted October 16, 2011 This looks good! A very unique use of purist bricks. Good job. "Mr Bartender, some blue Bantha milk on the rocks please, and no, these are not my droids!" Quote
Legostein Posted October 17, 2011 Author Posted October 17, 2011 Hello! Thank you for the kind comments! I am glad you like the purist minifigure. Cheers, ~ Christopher Quote
CorneliusMurdock Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 That is quite an excellent little minifig, Legostein! Amazing that the only "real" minifig parts are the legs and arms. What piece is it that the arms are attached to? Quote
LuxorV Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 Ingenious entry, Legostein! I like how he's mixing the drinks in the vignette shot. Please retake your front and back pics so they are full-front and full-back to qualify. Quote
Praiter Yed Posted October 21, 2011 Posted October 21, 2011 I never would have thought that minifig arms would fit to (un-educated guess...) one of these? Brilliant Quote
Legostein Posted October 23, 2011 Author Posted October 23, 2011 Thank you for the comments. What piece is it that the arms are attached to? I never would have thought that minifig arms would fit to (un-educated guess...) one of these? Brilliant Yes, Praiter you're right. I have the blue bucket holders from set 6504 (little blue tractor). Indeed, the minifigure arms fit in the bucket holders quite well. I did that before for my brick-built Kaminoan minifigure. Please retake your front and back pics so they are full-front and full-back to qualify. Thanks for the comment and the hint. As he has no printings, the front and back view are a little boring however. A link has been added to the gallery with all images. Cheers, ~ Christopher Quote
Ceroknight Posted October 24, 2011 Posted October 24, 2011 I really like your alien. I think the way you used that piece for the arms is a better way then Lego's upcoming Garmadon or the Green space police alien. I think I will post my alien soon, and he also has four arms, but it's a completely different style Quote
The Penguin Posted October 24, 2011 Posted October 24, 2011 An outstanding entry! I always knew you were extraordinary talented at micro and mini scale, but I never knew you could actually use it on minifigs! And in such a successful way! Bravo! Good day, ladies and gentlemen! ) Quote
alanboar HK Posted October 24, 2011 Posted October 24, 2011 your Alien Bartender made up with many "HANDS" It is smart idea and he can do lots of work ...haha I like you bar design also Quote
Legostein Posted October 26, 2011 Author Posted October 26, 2011 Thank you for the kind remarks! Customising with bricks only is also much fun. Cheers, ~ Christopher Quote
