Darth Yogi Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 (edited) Here is my entry for the alien. I made up the design after a lot of doodles, and a little brainstorming with my family, so I hope you like it. Cost-I'd say about 10-12 dollars, but not positive because I already had all of the materials beforehand. The gun is made by the great Brickarms, all other non-LEGO parts are customized. Inspiration- As I mentioned earlier, it came from a lot of doodles, and some help from my family in the brainstorming process. Then for the scene decided to make an entry to a bar or just some futuristic place with the circular door. Backstory-Kalen Zupix was hired by a small rebellion to take out a certain police chief that had been causing the rebellion some trouble. Zupix waits outside of the local bar in dark clothes prepared to take down the police chief. So here is my entry. The overall vignette. The front. The side. And the back. Kalen Zupix by Darth Yogi Thanks for looking, and I hope you enjoyed. Please C&C. Edited November 13, 2011 by Darth Yogi Quote

SilentMode Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 Excellent work on the minifigure, that's a really good paint job. Are those nails in his head? Quote
Darth Yogi Posted October 26, 2011 Author Posted October 26, 2011 Excellent work on the minifigure, that's a really good paint job. Are those nails in his head? Thanks and no they aren't nails. They are these. I got a lot of them in a pick a brick bag in an IL LEGO store. Quote
LuxorV Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 Nice job on this guy, Darth Yogi. Only, what did he do to you, that you wanted to put nails in his head? Quote
MstrOfPppts Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 Really cool job on this custom. I love it for the simple reason its so LEGOish. Just like TLG would of done it with some capes and an modified hair piece. Only the eyes might as well be just printed / painted, but they don't stick out too much. I really prefer this way of customisation to other techniques using all different materials on minifigs like foam, real hair, metal rings ... Very well done and good luck in the competition! Quote
alanboar HK Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 I like your idea to make the alien unique ~ ...the three-eyed and the nails in his head Do it hurt itself?? Quote

Well, now I know what to use for LEGO nails. Really cool job on this custom. I love it for the simple reason its so LEGOish. Just like TLG would of done it with some capes and an modified hair piece. Thanks, I tried to do a little variation of the amount of customization in my different entries. Praiter Yed Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 I like the way you made the coat and you've done a good paint job, I never would have guessed you'd used filed down levers for the 'nails' . I think the alien looks quite cute which is probably a good way to catch his prey off guard. Quote

I guess that bright green does give off a little cute look, probably because the common cute green cartoon alien. Quote
