Tarby99 Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 Hi All, I have a number of grey 12v transformers and one of them has a niggle where the permanet ancillary 12v supply is intermittant and when I gently shake the transformer I can here something moving about. I want to have look. Does anyone now how to get inside? I see a number of nipple things around the lower edge of the plastic casing. Do they all need to be press in and then the lower part gently removed? Any help would be great Tarbs Quote
Sokratesz Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 No idea, but I've got one that works fine and when you shake it you also hear something heavy moving inside :) - Sok. Quote
Tarby99 Posted November 8, 2011 Author Posted November 8, 2011 Well my permanent 12v is almost unusable on this transformer and it is a connection issue within the transformer. Someone must know how to dismantle it? Quote

Brickimad Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 (edited) Please be careful on this. There are high voltages on the mains side, even when the power is off, there could be a charge in the primary side of the transformer coil. Also if you're not sure about electronics, or young, please get an adult-or electrician to help you out. Even 110v can kill, or start a fire... Edited December 6, 2011 by Brickimad Quote
Tigertamer Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 (edited) You have to push in the nipples, then you can detract the upper part. It should be six, I think. Don't try to pull them out, it won't work. Greetings Edited December 6, 2011 by Tigertamer Quote
