ADHO15 Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 (edited) Players only please. It was evening in Gotham City and the sun had just set behind Wayne Tower like every other day. However, tonight is no ordinary night for the most infamous of the scum and villainy that populates the Gotham Underworld. A group of city’s the most notorious criminals had been gathered in the Iceberg Lounge by invitation from The Penguin himself. Speaking of the Penguin… Day One has begun. You must wait 24 hours before voting. -------------------------------------------- Objectives To win the game, the Criminals must kill off all the Undercover Agents, while the Undercover Agents need to outnumber the Criminals. -------------------------------------------- Rules 1. Each player has been given a character to play who is aligned with either the Criminals or the Undercover Agents. Third-Party (neutral) characters have their own win conditions as outlined in their roles. 2. Each day you will be able to vote to lynch a player. Voting should be done in the following format; Vote: Character (Player). Similarly, unvoting is to be done in the format; Unvote: Character (Player). No other format will be accepted and proxy voting is not allowed, except in the case of a pre-notified absence. A majority vote is required to lynch a player. In the case of a tie, one of the tied individuals will be lynched at random. Voting is mandatory. 3. A game Day will last a maximum of 72 hours. You may not vote in the first 24 hours. The Day will end when all players have voted and a majority vote has been reached. After the Day has concluded, a Night stage will commence, which will last 24 hours. Night actions must be sent to the host in the 18 hours of the night stage. 4. The alignment of lynched players, as well as those that died during the night will, in most cases, be revealed at the beginning of the next day. 5. You may not quote or pretend to quote anything sent to you by the game host via PM. This includes all the details of your character and role, as well as any night action results. Role claims and reporting of Night action results are acceptable, but in your own words only. Do not attempt to use the structure of your role PM to your advantage. 6. Do not play the game outside the Day threads. Similarly, do not post out of character inside the Day threads. Game tactics and roles may only be discussed in the game threads or via PM with other players. Private discussion is done at your own risk and should be treated as part of the game. 7. If you are dead, you may not post in Day threads or discuss the game with any of the players. Any information you had becomes void, and may not be passed on. 8. You may not edit your posts. 9. If you encounter a problem or have a question, please contact the host via the role PM. 10. Every player will get an Action and a Skill at their disposal. These can only be used during the Night. These are all active; none are passive. 11. Each Night, the players must use one of their Actions OR Skills by sending the host a PM about it, stating which you want to use and also your target where applicable. 12. The Night abilities have a pre-specified order of effect. If you don’t send your night ability by the time limit I’ve started the next Day, you will miss your chance to use it. 13. By using existing characters, it is expected that players will live up to their roles and follow their characters closely. Also, any referring to players by their username rather than their character’s name will not be tolerated. 14. Violation of the above rules will result in a 5 vote penalty against you on your first offence, and the death of your character on your second offence. -------------------------------------------- Non-playable Characters The Joker - played by ADHO15 The Penguin - played by The Penguin Players - Baby Doll - played by KielDaMan - Bane - played by Masked Builder - Black Mask - played by Brickdoctor - Calendar Man - played by Bob_ - Catwoman - played by CallMePieOrDie - Clayface - played by WhiteFang - Deadshot - played by Rumble Strike - Egghead - played by Captain Tamamono - Harley Quinn - played by Alopex - Hush - played by Mrlegoninja - Killer Croc - played by JediAnakin - Man-Bat - played by Sirius Black - Mr Freeze - played by Oky - Mr Zsasz - played by Nightshroud99 - Poison Ivy - played by badboytje88 - Ra’s Al Ghul - played by Fred Fred Burger - Simon The Pieman - played by Scorpiox - The Creeper - played by def - The Mad Hatter - played by Jedi master Brick - The Music Meister - played by Capt. Jedi master Brick Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 Now to get those tratiors. Now I guess it is the random lynch today. Anfd we're going nuclear, sound like a great idea
CMP Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 Now to get those tratiors. Now I guess it is the random lynch today. Anfd we're going nuclear, sound like a great idea Random lynch's a bit of a loose term. Slightly-educated-guess is more like it. And I'm purrfectly happy to lounge around for the moment in this lovely little bar. Martini!
badboytje88 Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 Oeh Mr Penguin and Mr Joker, what a lovely opportunity! I already know what I'd do with the money!
Brickdoctor Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 Random lynch's a bit of a loose term. Slightly-educated-guess is more like it. Indeed. If we were actually performing a truly random lynch, we'd be better off with no lynch at all.Though it is worth noting that god tells us that in the event of a tie in votes, the lynched person will be picked at random from among those tied in votes to be lynched.
CMP Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 Right...another interesting detail is 4. The alignment of lynched players, as well as those that died during the night will, in most cases, be revealed at the beginning of the next day. Some interesting wording there. And I'm assuming what that means is that nobody voting results in a random lynch of somebody, since we'd technically all be tied in votes, which indeed is no better than a random lynch. Am I right in assuming this?
Scorpiox Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 Now to get those tratiors. Now I guess it is the random lynch today. Anfd we're going nuclear, sound like a great idea "Simon says... Just becuase it is day one doesn't mean that we have to guess, there could be a day investigator that could lead us to the traitors. I don't think we should not vote, lest a random lynch kill of a valuable criminal!
Professor Flitwick Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 Kaznia? Whadda dey want with a Nuke? Well, sir, they've been in and out of civil wars for years, sir. So basically dey gonna nuke 'emselves? Ow lawd! Dey's even dumber den you! And dats saying summit! 2. Each day you will be able to vote to lynch a player. Voting should be done in the following format; Vote: Character (Player). Similarly, unvoting is to be done in the format; Unvote: Character (Player). And I'm assuming what that means is that nobody voting results in a random lynch of somebody, since we'd technically all be tied in votes, which indeed is no better than a random lynch. Am I right in assuming this? Well, everyone's gotta vote, so dat situation won't occur!
Alopex Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 Lets get those evil traitors!!! They are enemies of my beloved Mr J!!! I love you so much Joker!!!
CMP Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 Well, everyone's gotta vote, so dat situation won't occur! Good point. Still, I'm happy to wait a while to see if somebody will slip up, or at least until somebody appears suspicious to me. In the meantime...strip club?
Peanuts Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 And I'm assuming what that means is that nobody voting results in a random lynch of somebody, since we'd technically all be tied in votes, which indeed is no better than a random lynch. Am I right in assuming this? I don't think we should even consider not voting, as it is said voting was mandatory. And majority vote means you need more than 50% of the votes for a conviction, doesn't it? 2. Each day you will be able to vote to lynch a player. Voting should be done in the following format; Vote: Character (Player). Similarly, unvoting is to be done in the format; Unvote: Character (Player). In the case of a tie, one of the tied individuals will be lynched at random. Voting is mandatory. I don't think we should actually convict someone at all. I can see we're all afraid of dying tonight, but our chances to pick scum on day one are pretty bad. In fact, I've once read a paper about how people react to similar situations, and while the author certainly was not as good as me at psychology, it proves, that people tend to kill people based on the annoyance they cause rather than on actual scumtells. A prominent example featured was a psychotic named Carl Pie, who was killed for constantly calling others shithole and talking nonsence. And Penguin, didn't you say those stuff was for free? You liar! Anyway, I don't have any time for such distractions, while I have to keep us alive, figure the scum out and improve my formula.
Nightshroud99 Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 I don't do heist's Bird-boy, I live for the mark! Stealing is a waste of time, why was I invited!?!? I'm heading to the bar, scotch always calms me down; if I'm not calm people die and I see red. Won't be much of a heist left if I go loose. Also why did you and the Clown kill Zeus! I want those pigs, I kill! Not you! In the meantime...strip club? Nevermind, I'm heading in there!
WhiteFang Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 Come on everybody. Let's put our act together and rid those bloody undercover agents.
Tamamono Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 Penguin, your nuclear plan sounds like an egg-cellent idea! I'm looking forward to that handsome reward! Now to get those tratiors. Now I guess it is the random lynch today. Anfd we're going nuclear, sound like a great idea As many others have said, Day 1 does not automatically equal random lynch. Just because the odds are in favor of us lynching one of our own today doesn't mean that we shouldn't try to get one of those agents. Random lynch's a bit of a loose term. Slightly-educated-guess is more like it. And I'm purrfectly happy to lounge around for the moment in this lovely little bar. Martini! Egg-zactly. I don't expect evidence to drop from the sky, but waiting and making a 'slightly-educated-guess' as you called it is much better than a random vote. And I'm assuming what that means is that nobody voting results in a random lynch of somebody, since we'd technically all be tied in votes, which indeed is no better than a random lynch. Am I right in assuming this? The whole Day 1 voting issue has been discussed to death in the past. Running away from the decision we must make does not help us at all.
Peanuts Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 Egg-zactly. I don't expect evidence to drop from the sky, but waiting and making a 'slightly-educated-guess' as you called it is much better than a random vote. Matter is people keep slightly-educated-guessing wrong. And I'm afraid some of you psychopaths might prove useful against those agents. Well, not afraid, but worried. Sadly I'm not afraid of anything. The whole Day 1 voting issue has been discussed to death in the past. Running away from the decision we must make does not help us at all. It certainly has been. But I used to be in favor of guessing slightly-educated, as you say, but in fact, that paper showed me it's better not to do so. We won't gain any voting pattern, either, if anyone keeps voting for the same person. Only a split vote can provide a voting pattern. I'm saying this because I anticipate some of you will come up with that. I don't do heist's Bird-boy, I live for the mark! Stealing is a waste of time, why was I invited!?!? I asked the same question the same about most "villains" being here. I'm heading to the bar, scotch always calms me down; if I'm not calm people die and I see red. Won't be much of a heist left if I go loose. Great. But the Scotch sounds good, though. I'll also take one.
Masked Builder Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 Nuclear eh? Well this could be fun. Rocket science is my thing.
Nightshroud99 Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 egg-cellent Egg-zactly. All this talk about eggs is making me hungry. Bird-boy! You got a kitchen in this Popsicle lounge of yours?
Bob Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 I foresee a speedy end to these agents within days. Time is running out for these guys, and in a few days we'll all be rich and living the good life for the rest of our days.
Tamamono Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 Matter is people keep slightly-educated-guessing wrong. And I'm afraid some of you psychopaths might prove useful against those agents. Well, not afraid, but worried. Sadly I'm not afraid of anything. It's true, they do, and I'm not so naive as to think that one of the agents will slip up this early. However, that doesn't mean that we can't still try our best to analyze behavioral patterns and make, as Selina said, a slightly-educated-guess. What do you suggest we do, then? Just sit around and wait in hopes that there will be a little evidence tomorrow? All this talk about eggs is making me hungry. As a matter of fact, I'm getting quite peckish as well. I could really go for an egg salad sandwich right now.
Peanuts Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 It's true, they do, and I'm not so naive as to think that one of the agents will slip up this early. However, that doesn't mean that we can't still try our best to analyze behavioral patterns and make, as Selina said, a slightly-educated-guess. Oh, I'm all in favor of analyzing behavioral patterns. I am even the only one of us who's actually good at that. So I don't say we should just sit around, but I say, we shouldn't kill anyone of us without even the slightiest evidence. You already pointed out, the agents would propably not be stupid enough to slip up right now. What do you suggest we do, then? Just sit around and wait in hopes that there will be a little evidence tomorrow? Something like that, yes. I can see you're sceptical about evidence coming up and I guess you're afraid that the scum will gain an advantage over us, but I still think we should try to avoid a conviction. I don't trust any of you to convict an agent, as not even I am capable of figuring them out at the moment.
Professor Flitwick Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 Something like that, yes. I can see you're sceptical about evidence coming up and I guess you're afraid that the scum will gain an advantage over us, but I still think we should try to avoid a conviction. I don't trust any of you to convict an agent, as not even I am capable of figuring them out at the moment. I quite agree. It's better to go into a night against these undercover agents 5:19, then risk it being 5:18- Yeah! We gotta tink about da odds, jus' like at da track! Yes, sir, quite, sir, if only you ever won, sir.
Tamamono Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 I quite agree. It's better to go into a night against these undercover agents 5:19, then risk it being 5:18- Yeah! We gotta tink about da odds, jus' like at da track! Yes, sir, quite, sir, if only you ever won, sir. I suppose Wesker and the puppet have a point. Wrongful lynches will only benefit the agents, after all. Still, I still think we should at least try to find an agent today.
Rumble Strike Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 A nuclear missile eh? Now that ought to stop the Bat! As to the undercover agents in our midst, we'll just have to be on the lookout for anything suspicious. Although looking at who we have in here, I think all of you are pretty strange to begin with.
K-Nut Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 Spies eh? Bats has upped his game, so it's probably time we up ours. We need to get rid of those spies, I want to see a nuclear explosion!
CMP Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 eh? font] eh? eh? Eh? We're not in the 40s anymore, none of us have said 'eh' in years...
