alois Posted November 27, 2011 Posted November 27, 2011 The first moc I made after my dark ages was a mayor's mansion. Although I liked the result, after a year I wanted something bigger, so in the spirit of the upcoming modular building I rebuilt it into a town hall. As you can see I added a double entrance, which I also borrowed from an older moc. The town hall is situated on a little town square with a park and a fountain. A bride and bridegroom are just leaving the town hall, their friends and family standing by: In front of the square is a street with a tram. The street isn't finished yet; my plan is to create a pavement with integrated tram rails. More images on my Flickr-account. Let me know what you think of it. Quote
snaillad Posted November 27, 2011 Posted November 27, 2011 Nice job on the town hall, the whole scene looks excellent. Great work! Quote
L@go Posted November 28, 2011 Posted November 28, 2011 Really nice! If the Town Hall coming next year is reminiscent of this, I'll be happy. Well done - although I do feel a bit sorry for that cat, which seems to have put itself in an awkward situation... Quote
Dakar A Posted November 28, 2011 Posted November 28, 2011 This MOC is great Alois! By the way, is that the Minister of Silly Walks sitting on the front bench in the park? Quote
lightningtiger Posted November 28, 2011 Posted November 28, 2011 AWESOME hall town 'alois', great street scene too ! Keep up the cool work 'alois'.....Brick On ! Quote
ER0L Posted November 28, 2011 Posted November 28, 2011 Awesome! Each of the buildings works very well, together in this situation they create a very convincing ensemble. But what I like most is your park and how you managed to contrast its strong symmetry with details like the different colors of the tiles and especially with the flowers which rather look unevenly spread. Together with the ongoing action this creates a very lively atmosphere. I like the tram as well. Quote
LEGO Guy Bri Posted November 28, 2011 Posted November 28, 2011 Wonderful rebuild 'alois'. The was great but, this is better. The details and garden are very nice. Great job Quote
Man with a hat Posted November 28, 2011 Posted November 28, 2011 Impressive. I like the balcony. It is a great addition. And the whole building fits perfectly with the square and the surrounding buildings. Quote
Trent Posted November 28, 2011 Posted November 28, 2011 This is wonderful! My first MOC was meant to be a Town Hall but I've paused with that idea since hearing the next modular is due to be one. However, if mine had turned out like this, I'd be really happy! I think the square is a good idea and really draws the buildings together. The balcony is a lovely touch, and I like the red carpets and wedding scene. The Fire Brigade-esque detailing works really well on the brickwork and it fits in excellently with your other buildings. The skateboarders made me laugh - we have a square in my town and it's filled with teenagers going up and down the handrails! Quote
sonicstarlight Posted November 29, 2011 Posted November 29, 2011 Great work! All of your creations are individually wonderful, but seeing them arranged like this is really inspiring. Blogged on Brick Town Talk! Quote
alois Posted November 30, 2011 Author Posted November 30, 2011 This MOC is great Alois! By the way, is that the Minister of Silly Walks sitting on the front bench in the park? No, it is either the tram driver waiting for his next shift or maybe the driver of the wedded couple's car. Quote
Asper Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 That's beautiful. Not only the town hall, the complete layout is great. I like the fountain. Quote
HighFlyer Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 Very impressive MOC, I hope the Town Hall next year (supposing the rumours are true) is similar to this. I love the outside scenery! Quote
