Legoroni Posted March 14, 2012 Posted March 14, 2012 Earlier today, while browsing through some train mocs, I realized something. I haven't seen a 6-Wide Super Chief MOC using newer parts and more complicated techniques to make a more detailed and accurately sized consist. Are people scared to remake it? I understand that maybe since it has already been made, people may think that there is no need to redesign it. I disagree. Personally, I feel that a more detailed train can be designed using ideas from swoofty's Locos and SAL carriage set. I would like to say I own the actual locomotive set, but without the carriages. I may have to design a new version myself. Has anyone else thought about this? Quote
roamingstop Posted March 14, 2012 Posted March 14, 2012 One page back is this link for the new EMD F7 project which will see new brick colours for Santa Fe Super Chief. There is another link somewhere as well (probably 2 pages back). Various others have been seen on flickr using brick built doors. And I posted a link to longer version here. Quote
legoboy3998 Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 This winter I finised an E9 ABA set with passanger fleet modeled after the Wisconsin & Southerns business fleet. It is power function with two of the new train motors in one unit. Once I decal it I'll post photos. Sal WFB, WI Quote

As there are no Doors in New Lite Grey I had to brick build them, I'm not 100% sold on them yet. The roofs are removable and am still deciding which is better, the one with these or these . I'm liking the second one better with the smooth roofs. These are based on James Mathis designs. The rear observation car is my fantasy car as i know there was never any built like that, I just REALLY like the Observation car and wanted to add it to the EL Capitan train. I have made 5 cars so far, the one without a door is my design. These have been in the process since Xmas. Quote
