Posted May 21, 201212 yr EDIT: Version 2.0! Front: Back: C&C Welcome and wanted! Hi! I've fooled around with making decals before, but until now I've never finished designing one. That's because I never like the way my decal designs look. But this morning I sat down to create one, and I told myself I WOULD finish designing it. So, here's my very first decal! A Lego store employee. To finish the minifig, just apply the decal to a black torso, use tan legs, and whatever head and hair you like! What do you guys think? As usual, C&C welcome! May 21, 201212 yr It's great that you got to do this! Thanks for sharing it! Isn't the Lego logo way too small, though? Edited May 21, 201212 yr by johnnyvgoode
May 21, 201212 yr I think the logo might be too small when printed, but other than that it looks good.
May 21, 201212 yr Author Thanks guys. Yeah, it looked small in a reference pic, but I guess I made it TOO small. And I just realized the red rectangle is supposed to be a brick! I've never been to a Lego store before so I didn't know that. Expect a revised version soon!
May 22, 201212 yr Also, it'd me cool if you made a back decal, considering these are overalls. Looking forward for your revision.

I've never been to a Lego store before so I didn't know that. Expect a revised version soon! It is small on the real thing, but remember that when printed this is a minifig torso (small) and so you'll need to make the logo a bit bigger if you want it to be recognizable. Even if it isn't 100% true to the source material, you need to take that sort of artistic licence with it to make it seem more realistic . Hopefully what I just said isn't totally confusing.

May 22, 201212 yr Author I hate to double post, but could a mod please change the title to "WIP Decal: Lego store employee"? Thanks. I ask because I'll be looking for more suggestions after I revise it.
May 23, 201212 yr Great improvement! Are you sure that's how the back of the overalls look, though? I just haven't been enough to a Lego store to know... Great work!

May 23, 201212 yr Thanks johnny! I've never been to a Lego store either... Could someone who has seen the back describe it to me, please? Never? It's been a few months, but I believe they're crossed, like normal overalls. -Sci
May 23, 201212 yr Author Never? It's been a few months, but I believe they're crossed, like normal overalls. -Sci Ok, thanks Sci! I'll update the back soon. Yes, never. But I'm likely going to either the Calgary or Toronto store this summer. Man, a Lego store in Manitoba would be sweet!
May 23, 201212 yr I think you should exaggerate the size of the brick so they are more legible at minifig scale. Edited May 23, 201212 yr by gotoAndLego
May 23, 201212 yr Thanks johnny! I've never been to a Lego store either... Could someone who has seen the back describe it to me, please? You're welcome! And I didn't say that I've never been at a Lego store. However, I do feel sorry you haven't! Don't worry; there's always a first time! And I hope you keep us updated with this!
May 24, 201212 yr Author I think you should exaggerate the size of the brick so they are more legible at minifig scale. Thanks, larger brick planned for the next update. You're welcome! And I didn't say that I've never been at a Lego store. However, I do feel sorry you haven't! Don't worry; there's always a first time! And I hope you keep us updated with this! Oh, I guess I just misunderstood you. Yep, I'll keep you guys updated! 3rd version'll be ready soon.
June 2, 201212 yr Author Just wanted to let you guys know, I haven't abandoned this. I'll still work on it. It's just a REALLY busy time for me right now, so when I do get time for Lego, other projects are higher priorities. But, sometime in the coming week I'll have this updated.
June 5, 201212 yr I'm not sure if it varies by store, but the Canadian stores use aprons, not coveralls. The back should have a yellow strap going around the back of the neck, and then 2 tied strings lower on the back to hold the waist of the apron on. You should definitely come visit the Calgary store... We're totally better ( although I may be just a wee bit biased, working there and all :P) Edited June 5, 201212 yr by Rosethorn

I'll make a Canadian version then, seeing as Canadians are the best! If I go to the Calgary store I'll let you know, maybe I'll be able to meet you.
